The Beauty Tag

Beauty Tag.jpg
If you’ve been following my blog, you know I like to take a break from the beauty reviews once a month to add in some question and answer fun so y’all can get to know me a little better. When searching for tags to do, I felt like I was having a more difficult time this month since I’ve done a lot of them already. In cased you missed any, you can find them all here (last month’s was pretty embarrassing, fyi). So I was super excited when the beautiful Katelyn from Katelyn Blogs tagged me to do the Beauty Tag, which is essentially eight beauty-related questions that are passed around between bloggers. Let’s get straight to it and then I’ll be tagging two other bloggers at the end to answer some of my questions.
1.) Do you remember your first makeup item?
Other than just kiddie play makeup, my first actual real makeup item was clear mascara that my mom allowed me to wear in sixth grade. I thought it was so cool at the time. Looking back, I’m not exactly sure what the point was of having a clear mascara on my eyelashes but it made me happy.

2.) What is your holy grail foundation?
Definitely the L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation. It’s so lightweight on the skin, but provides great coverage while still looking natural and lasting all day.

3.) Fake eyelashes - yay or no way?
I like the way some of them look, but I don’t usually wear them myself. I work really hard to improve the lashes I have, so I’d rather just layer on the mascara and opt out of putting glue along my lashline.

4.) Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I went through a phase where I really liked liquid eyeliner because it lasts longer, but lately I’ve been going for my pencil eyeliners more and just layering an eyeshadow on top for staying power.

5.) If you could leave the house using just one makeup item, what would it be and why?
Mascara. If I’m being rushed out of the house, going somewhere I don’t really care about, or am trying to give my skin a break, mascara is always my go-to. I love the L'oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions mascara, but that provides more length than it does volume. Lately I’ve been reaching for Jordana’s Best Lash Extreme Volumizing mascara when I only have a few seconds.

6.) Do you prefer brushes or sponges for makeup application?
Brushes. I still use sponges to go over everything after I’ve blended it all with a brush, but I found sponges take more time for me and would waste more product because they soak so much of it up.

7.) What is your most cherished beauty product?
My eyelash curler. Curling the eyelashes makes such a big difference, but I have no idea where I got the one that I have or what brand makes it. It’s the very first eyelash curler I’ve ever had and I wouldn’t know how to replace it if it ever got lost. I’ve tried others, but this one fits my eye shape perfectly.

8.) What is your favorite beauty tip or trick?
Fixing smudged mascara with a q-tip. It’s something I see so many people worry about, but the solution could not be any easier. Just let the mascara dry for about a minute (depending on how much of it got smudged) and then it’ll just flake right off with a dry q-tip.

This tag was so much fun and I love all the questions Katelyn created for me. Go check out her blog and follow her on social media, she’s such a sweet and kind-hearted person! Creating genuine friends in the blogging community is essential and I’m so happy to have been able to connect with her.

My questions are:
1.) What is your one favorite makeup item?

2.) When did you first start wearing makeup?

3.) What is your favorite part out of your makeup routine?

4.) Do you prefer volumizing or lengthening mascara?

5.) What makeup brand is your favorite?

6.) Would you prefer to have dry or oily skin?

7.) What is your favorite beauty tool?

8.) What is your favorite beauty tip or trick?

I am tagging Amanda from Amanda Bella and Crystal from Everything Beauty. I can’t wait to read your answers! :)
