Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Night Moisturizer Review

Skincare is one of those things that can be really tricky to figure out. Everyone’s skin is different and there are so many products on the market now that claim to do so many things that it’s hard to know which ones really work, which ones don’t, and which ones will be a good match for you. I don’t have many wrinkles (except for under my eyes) and I never would’ve picked up a product like the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Night Moisturizer. My biggest skin concerns are my extreme oiliness, acne, and texture. If a product doesn’t address one of those issues in its claims, I usually just skip right over it. But this one was different...

Because I had such bad acne when I was younger, I’m now left with horrible texture on my cheeks. The best way I can describe it is that it looks very similar to an orange peel and I never knew what to do about it. I figured there must be something out there, but what? How do I fix this texture on my cheeks with products that aren’t going to take care of acne that’s still there? That doesn’t make any sense!

Quite a few months ago, I had a dermatologist prescribe a retinol treatment to me. It worked beautifully and I hadn’t seen my skin so smooth in years. But towards the end of the product, I noticed it wasn’t giving me the same results anymore and I didn’t want to go through the hassle of refilling my prescription. I had heard great things about this Neutrogena lotion and since it was so easily available at the store, I figured I might as well give it a shot.

I bought it at Walmart for about $18. It came with 1 oz of product and some of its claims are to improve wrinkles, brighten skin tone, and smooth fine lines and texture. The most active ingredients are accelerated retinol SA, retinol SA, glucose complex, and hyaluronic acid which are all explained on the back of the packaging. It is a little pricey for a drugstore item, but I would rather spend more on skincare than on makeup because your skin will be with you forever and perfect makeup starts with perfect skin.

After using it for about 2 months, I can definitely see a difference in my skin. Retinol products can dry out thin areas around the face, so I apply it nightly only to my cheeks and forehead. I skip my mouth and nose area. It claims to provide results in one week and I do remember seeing a difference pretty quickly. Retinol products can also be a little harsh if you’re not used to it, so I started out skipping a day before moving into nightly applications. It also has a nice scent to it that I really enjoy.

Overall, I’m really impressed with this product. The packaging is nice, it does what it says it will do, and I like that it can easily be found at many stores. If you’re thinking about trying this product or are concerned about texture like me, I definitely recommend picking this up and seeing how it works for you. If you have any other questions, please feel free to leave them for me in the comments section and I hope you have a wonderful day!
