Setting the Wedding: Part 3

We’re only 6 months away now! Sometimes it feels like we have so much time left and other times it feels like it’s almost here. We’re still taking things somewhat slow, making sure not to overstress ourselves and just enjoy this time in our lives. We haven’t had anything that was too difficult so far, but the things that weren’t the easiest we managed to work our way through. One thing I’ve learned that has been super helpful and a decision that I’m so happy I made was to keep a small group in planning. When details start to reach out to more than just our immediate family, that’s when it has been the most stressful.

We didn’t have too many things to take care of last month and we’ve gotten everything done that we need to check off our list. I already had my wedding dress and veil less than a month after being engaged, so that was a big thing I didn’t have to worry about. We got all of our Save the Dates out in the mail. Between rounding up addresses and taking breaks to heal hand cramps, I felt like that took forever! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but our colors for the wedding are white and gold. My sister found these adorable gold hearts at Target a few months back, so I’ve been pairing them with a gold sharpie to mail out envelopes. Precious! ♥

After much searching, we finally booked our honeymoon! We really didn’t have any idea of where we wanted to go, other than it being somewhere tropical. I get too motion sick to be able to take a cruise and I didn’t want a long car ride, for that same reason. I mentioned looking into Sandals resorts in my last wedding post and that’s what we decided to go with. We will be leaving three days after our wedding to take a seven-night trip to the Sandals Grande Antigua resort. It looks absolutely stunning and we are beyond excited to go!
For this month, we have quite the list ahead of us. We need to look at and book a florist, which means I need to decide what I want. I have a general idea, but am almost clueless when it comes to flowers. I also need to interview a hairstylist, check out catering options, and start a basic registry. The registry part sounded super fun at first, but then we realized we don’t really need much. After living together for three years now, we have everything we need so we’re mainly asking for money or Home Depot gift cards so we can repaint and improve our house.
I do plan on doing my own makeup, so that’s one thing I don’t have to book. I know how I like it and what products work with my skin, so I’d like to be the one in charge of that. We found out that I can't use my passport card to air travel to the island, so we got both of us applied for an actual passport book. We have also (finally) made an arrangement for our families to meet next weekend since we’re having such nice weather.

Since we have such a small wedding party, we don’t have to worry about making rehearsal dinner reservations or reservations for the day-after brunch. I mentioned earlier that the man we have to officiate our wedding will also be our DJ and we have already met the wedding day coordinator, so that’s two more things we didn’t have to worry about taking care of.

We’re really happy with the way things are coming along so far and I think we’re doing a pretty good job of keeping it all under control. Again, we have our small group to thank for that. I can’t wait to see what happens from here and I know that the closer it gets, the more exciting things are going to happen. Yayy! ♥

I know I’ve been all about the pastels lately, but when I was looking in my collection this red caught my eye. I don’t think I’ve worn a red in a while, so that’s what I went with. The shade is called Red Red and it’s from Wet n Wild. I don’t own many Wet n Wild polishes, but I do think they’re okay. This one has a beautiful color to it and is just a true red without any orange or pink undertones.
