August Favorites

This year just keeps moving faster and faster! I don’t know if it’s the wedding planning that’s got my brain all occupied, but this year just seems to be moving so much faster than normal. It’s kinda fun, though! As much as I love some good relaxation, I also love staying super busy. You should see the daily to-do lists I make for myself. They’re totally unrealistic! I have so much that always needs to be done and I write down every tiny little detail because I just love the satisfaction of crossing things off the list. It makes me feel so accomplished with myself and I know I’m not the only one who does that!

Starting with some fashion favorites, I got this new tank top at Target and I’ve been loving it so much. I can be really picky with tank tops (or any clothes, really) because I’m always looking for something extremely soft and comfortable. Target never disappoints when it comes to tops. This one is from their Merona brand and you can almost always find them on sale. I love how it fits and that it’s not a racerback, so I don’t have to worry about any bra straps showing. It keeps everything covered and is super comfortable and soft.

I don’t have a body that’s typically very difficult to fit. When I go clothes shopping, it’s usually pretty easy for me. Unless we’re talking about rompers. I haven’t figured out what it is (I’m thinking it’s my short torso), but I have had the hardest time finding a romper that fits me. I found this one at Marshall’s and I’ve been wanting to wear it almost every single day. It’s the softest romper I’ve ever tried on and I like that it can look a little dressy or more casual. I know black isn’t the best for Summer time, but this breaths really well and is just too cute to pass up.

This is the third month in a row that I’m including these sandals in a favorites post. I seriously just can’t get enough of them. I’ve almost completely abandoned my flip flops and have been wearing these almost every day. They match with everything and are so comfortable to walk in. You can get them at Target and they’re by the brand Mad Love. Even my mom and sister both got themselves a pair after seeing how much I love mine.

These next two items were both just featured in my recent Rocksbox Unboxing post. The ring is a Labradorite set in yellow gold and is by the brand Aster. I love the shape of it and the different colors it picks up. The necklace is a delicate crystal layered yellow gold choker by the brand Sophia Harper. This matches with almost anything and I’ve been all about the delicate necklaces lately, especially when they’re yellow gold!

Moving on to a few more random items, I’ve admitted once before that I am completely horrible when it comes to drinking water. I just don’t like it. So I always try to trick myself into thinking it’s more fun when drinking it out of a cute little water bottle. I found this Bubba tumbler at Walmart. I’ve had one other bottle from them before and I love it. I’ve never been a big Yeti type of person and really wanted to see how well this performs. It, no joke, keeps my water and ice the same all day long even when I’ve accidentally placed it in the sun. For $10, you really can’t get anything better. It’s stainless steel on the inside, has a rubber bottom, and is super cute to carry around.

I haven’t spoken much about this before, but I’ve really been working hard on pilates this year. Between knowing that I have my wedding coming up and just realizing that I finally need to tone my body back up again, I’ve been doing pilates for an hour a day / 4 days a week. It has seriously gotten my body in the best shape of my life. I’m seeing muscles that I’ve never seen before! I’ve been doing the same routine since late January and figured it’s probably time to step it up. Bringing in a pilates resistance band looked like it’d actually be a lot of fun. And while it is fun, it is definitely much more of a challenge than I thought it was going to be. Leave me a comment if you’d like to know more about my favorite fitness routines!

I feel like candles have this huge cult following, especially if they’re from Bath & Body Works. I’ve tried a few in the past when they were on sale last holiday season and I just wasn’t as impressed as I thought I was going to be. But I’m not much of a candle burner to begin with either. I got this Georgia Peach candle at one of my bridal showers and it smelled so good. I started burning it immediately and now it’s almost gone. It has a very strong smell compared to others that I’ve tried and it smells so delicious, like you’re baking a peach cobbler. I love it!

Now onto the few beauty products that I have to mention. I’ve still just been all over the place with the products I reach for lately, but I keep picking up this BrowGal Convertible Eyebrow palette. I used it a lot when I first got it in my May Boxycharm and then it just got set to the side for whatever reason. I pulled it back out a few weeks ago because I remember how much I loved my brows every time I used this and it’s still true. These are the best brow powders I have ever used. I always use them wet and I like switching between different colors to create more dimension on the brow.

The eyeshadow palette that I’ve reached for the most the past month is the StudioMakeup On-The-Go palette in Warm Up. I love the shade range in here and that there’s enough variety to create different looks every day while still providing all the basics. I used to rave about these so much at the beginning of the year and how the quality in this is just absolutely perfect. I still feel that way about this palette, it’s one of the best!

Mascara is definitely the one makeup item that I’ve been switching back and forth between the most recently. It took me awhile to get my hands on the L’oreal Lash Paradise mascara, but I finally got it. I’ve been testing out both the regular version and the waterproof version and think they’re both equally amazing. In case you missed it, you can read my full review of it here along with before and after photos for proof of how well it works.

The next two aren’t necessarily mascaras that I like to use by themselves, but love the way they look when paired together. They’re both by Lancôme, which is a brand that’s not very common in my collection. The first one is their new Monsieur Big mascara that just hit the shelves in July. I have a separate full review on this one and although it’s not the worst mascara, I think it makes the lashes look so much better when layered underneath Lancôme’s Définicils mascara. I will have a full review with comparison photos on that mascara next week. If you’ve read my mascara routine, then you’d know that applying two mascaras is nothing new and this is definitely one of the better combinations I’ve tried.

Lots of new things to mention this time around, many of them fitting into the more random category rather than beauty. I actually really enjoy finding new things outside of the beauty world to share with you. I’ve loved all of these products so much recently, I hope I was able to interest you in something new!

If you have any questions about any of the items I mentioned, please feel free to leave them for me in the comments section below. Have you used any of these products before? What were some of your favorites this month?
