Pixi Glow Tonic Review

A few months ago, I received this Pixi Glow Tonic in the mail. It was around Christmas time and caught me completely by surprise. If you follow me on Instagram, you might already know that I’ve been testing this product. And if you read my January Favorites post, then you would know my embarrassing story that this all started with - a story I’m not willing to share for a second time. But regardless of what happened in the beginning, I couldn’t wait to try this and see what all the fuss was about!

This Pixi Glow Tonic has been around for a while and it’s loved by many. I’ve always heard amazing reviews about it, but for whatever reason Pixi was never a brand that had really caught my attention. Even when their products had a cult following, like this Glow Tonic, I still never made an effort to look at their selection. Looking back now, I’m actually kinda sad about all the time I missed out on with their products.

This product is available in a few different sizes and you can typically find Pixi products at Target. It is formulated with 5% glycolic acid and claims to exfoliate, brighten, and smooth skin. It is alcohol free and gentle enough for all skin types. Some of its other ingredients include aloe vera, ginseng, and botanical extracts that work together to nourish the skin. You can use it in the morning and at night after cleansing, then follow up with a moisturizer.
I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I’m pretty sure I noticed a more glowy effect to my skin after just a few uses. I don’t mean glowy in the sense that I looked oily, though. It was more of a lit from within kind of glow that just made my skin look healthy. After using it for a few months (morning and night), I can definitely tell a difference in my skin. It’s really hard to find a word to describe it other than “glow.” They clearly did a very good job at naming this product.

It even won an acne award in Teen Vogue last year. Usually I’m a little skeptical about relying on products that say “award winner” because I don’t exactly understand how they come to some of the conclusions that they do, but this is one I will definitely be purchasing on my own in the future!
