Rocksbox Unboxing

Jewelry is a beautiful thing. Not only because it’s literally beautiful, but also in the sense that it can completely change an outfit. I’m not always that adventurous when it comes to jewelry, though. I have a few staple pieces that I love and wear all the time, which you could probably tell by all my Instagram pictures or Pinterest boards. Subscription boxes like Rocksbox are perfect for people like me. They allow you to try on the jewelry before committing to a purchase. I can’t tell you how many times I haven’t liked something (clothes, jewelry, etc.), then tried it on and completely fell in love.

If you haven’t heard of Rocksbox before, they are a jewelry subscription service that charges $21 a month. When you create an account, you will also create a style profile so a stylist can tailor the pieces to your preferences. Each box contains three pieces of jewelry and the $21 you pay each month turns into a credit so you can have a discount on whatever pieces you might want to keep. Whatever pieces you don’t want to purchase, you can mail back with the prepaid label included in the package.

When I created my account, I added 30 pieces to my wishlist including a variety of necklaces, earrings, and a few bracelets. All three items that I received in this set are from my wishlist, so I was happy to see that they actually pay attention to that. The first pair of earrings that I got are from the brand Gorjana. They are called the Chloe small studs in rose gold and typically retail for $35. I like that the hammered design is just subtle enough that you can barely tell while still reflecting light very well. Simple pieces like this are my favorite.

The second pair of earrings I received are from Kate Spade, a brand that I’ve had my eye on for a while. I typically see a lot of gold and rose gold pieces in their collection and that has my name written all over it. This pair is the Rise and Shine small studs in light rose. I love that they’re just big enough to catch the attention without being too huge or weighing the ear down. These retail at $38 and are the perfect example of something that I would wear every day, but with a fun pink twist.

The last piece that I received is from a brand called Aster and this is their Peony necklace. This piece is priced the highest at $67, but is also the biggest. I love the muted white and blush tones that it has and that it can be styled so many different ways. My favorite was to layer it in three tiers, but it also looked great as two layers or more depending on what shirt I was wearing. It’s not very heavy at all, which makes it perfect for hot Summer days.

I do like a few statement pieces every now and then, so the items in this set were perfect for me. I got a few simple earrings that I can wear more often and a chunkier necklace for days when I want something a little more. Rocksbox has a really good idea in that you get to try the pieces before purchasing them and I love the fact that they credit you back the $21 to keep one of your favorites. If you decide to keep the whole set, you also get an extra $10 off. It doesn’t get any better!
