ColourPop Boudoir Noir Palette Review

After trying and absolutely loving the ColourPop Nude Mood eyeshadow palette, I gained a ton of interest in their other pressed shadow palettes. The Boudoir Noir is one of their most recent releases and includes nothing but warm-tones, which tend to be my favorite! It is a little bit bigger and does have some distinct differences compared to the Nude Mood palette, all of which are much appreciated and keep the quality very impressive.

ColourPop products can usually be found in most Ulta stores, as well as on the brand website. This palette comes with twelve eyeshadows and retails for $18. It is set in cardboard packaging and uses a strong magnet to close. While there is no applicator included, there are shade names listed below each pan and a very generous sized mirror on the inside.

The shades shown in the swatch picture below are: Déjà Vu (m), Goodnight, Body Language, Melt (m), Desire (m), Bedtime Story, Sleep In, Late Text (m), Silk Sheets (m), Vibin’ (m), Nap, and Hot Toddy (m). Out of the twelve eyeshadows, seven are matte (m), four have a metallic finish (Goodnight, Body Language, Sleep In, and Nap), and one is a pressed glitter (Bedtime Story).

All of the shades are incredibly pigmented and most are very easy to work with. They all have a buttery smooth texture with no fallout and are very easy to blend. The only one that requires some extra work is Bedtime Story. Its glitter tends to be a little too sparse.

This is a very warm-toned palette that can create a variety of different looks. While there are a few bold colors, it can also go in a much more neutral direction. It has a great balance of light, medium, and dark shades as well as both shimmer and matte finishes. It has everything needed to create an eyelook without reaching for any other products. The shadows don’t tend to muddy together and can easily last for about seven hours before any fading or creasing begins. Stay tuned for a tutorial featuring this palette coming next week!
