Frizz Free Hair Hack

Living with curly hair in a location as humid as Florida sounds like a disaster. And for the majority of my life, it has been. I’ve tried so many different products and tricks to control the frizz and almost nothing has worked. I recently learned about a new hack and with nothing else to lose, I decided to give it a try. I was almost speechless to see that it actually worked and there’s just no way I could keep this to myself!
When it comes to my hair, I always wash it every single night before I go to bed and it’s usually still pretty wet when I go to sleep. That hasn’t ever caused me any issues and because I don’t use as much heat styling as I used to, my hair stays pretty healthy. The new trick that I learned is that instead of putting my wet hair in a regular towel or something like a microfiber Turbie Twist, I should tie it up in a cotton t-shirt.
There is an entire hair “plopping” technique, but I just open the bottom of the shirt, put my hair inside, twist it up like I would with any other towel, and tuck the excess underneath in the back. Before putting it in the shirt, I make sure to comb my hair and apply a leave-in conditioner. Then I just leave it there for about 30 minutes before taking it down and going to bed. Not only will this significantly reduce the amount of frizz (as shown in the photos below), but it will also help to absorb more water and dry the hair faster.
I can’t believe this hack actually worked! While I still do have some off days when there’s exceptionally high humidity, the frizz in my hair is nothing like it used to be when using a regular towel. The best part is the immediate satisfaction. I noticed a huge difference the very first day!
