Profusion Cosmetics Minimalist Palette Tutorial

Profusion Cosmetics continues to impress with each new product that they release. While they do explore the brighter color range, it’s the neutrals that always catch my attention. There are 35 gorgeous shades to play with in this Minimalist palette and the quality is wonderful. This wide color range can go in many directions, but my favorites are the warm browns with a hint of pink!

To start, I primed my eyes with my favorite Milani eyeshadow primer and allowed that to dry. This is a great primer for increasing both the wear time and color payoff of the eyeshadows. Once it was dry, I took the medium matte tan shade in the second row called Outgoing and buffed that in my crease with a large buffing brush to start creating some shape on the eye.

Then I took the medium matte brown shade in the fourth row called Brown Sugar and placed that on the outer third of my eye, moving slightly into my crease with a tightly packed shader brush. This color is strongly pigmented, so make sure to tap off the excess product before touching the brush to the eye and build up in light layers for a more even application.

To add a soft color, I decided to take the muted pink shade in the third row called Lovely and buff that in my crease right at the edge of where Brown Sugar stops. This will add more dimension to the look and make the lid space appear bigger. Once the crease colors were applied, I went in with a separate, empty, loose-bristled blending brush to soften the edges for a more seamless finish.

For the rest of the lid, I chose the second shimmer shade in the first row called Twinkle because I love how the champagne glitter pairs with the warm browns and pink colors in the crease. When working with shimmer shades like this, it’s best to pack on the shadow using a fingertip and then blend it into the crease with a small shader brush. That method will provide the most pigmented application possible and reduce the risk of shimmer falling on the cheeks.

Then I used the matte highlighting shade in the first row called Moves to highlight the area underneath my brow bone, as well as the very inner corner of my eye. This is just a few shades lighter than my natural skin tone, which will help it brighten without looking too harsh against the darker colors in the crease.

For eyeliner, I first applied the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in the shade BlackNoir halfway along both my upper and lower lashes. Then I took the matte black eyeshadow (Witchy) from the palette and used an angled liner brush to place that directly on top of the pencil. This two-step liner method will create a softer appearance that will last longer throughout the day.

Then all there is left to do is curl the lashes and add a few coats of mascara. Right now, I’m using the Tarte Big Ego mascara. It’s a nice formula, but not one that I would repurchase. However, it is good enough that I don’t need to add any falsies for extra definition.

And a quick, more condensed guide for easy reference:

The beauty of neutral eyeshadow is that it can be paired with almost any lip color. For this particular look, I chose the Profusion Matte Lip Liner in the shade Cocoa Charm. Berry shades are my favorite lip colors to wear and I love how the brown undertones of this pencil pairs with the warm-toned shadows on the eyes.

This is one of my favorite eyeshadow looks to wear! The crease colors are perfect and the shimmer shade on the inner half of the lid can easily be switched to a lighter matte shade or a darker shimmer for different occasions. It’s been a while since I’ve used this lip liner, but it might be my new favorite! The formula is so smooth and I love well it pairs with my skin tone and hair color.
