Alphabet Makeup Tag

The Alphabet Makeup Tag is one of the more recent tags circling around the beauty community lately. The goal is to choose a favorite product from a favorite brand for each letter of the alphabet. My picks ended up being a mix of both staple go-tos and newer discoveries. Along with a quick summary of each product, I also included links to some of my previous reviews and tutorials for more information.

A: Ace Beautē eyeshadows

Ace Beaute eyeshadows are amazing! I got a few when I was subscribed to Boxycharm and I was constantly impressed with their quality. They do tend to be on the more colorful range rather than comfortable neutrals, but the pigmentation is unbelievable and the texture is so smooth!

B: Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara

My favorite mascara!! I love lashes, so I’m always trying new mascara formulas and this is the only one that has ever gotten my husband’s attention. It lasts all day without flaking, it adds incredible length and a noticeable amount of volume. I will always repurchase!

C: Cover FX Perfector Face Palette

This is by far the best face palette I have ever tried. I still really don’t like the glitter in the finishing powder, but the rest of it is absolute perfection. The colors are gorgeous, it’s beautiful on both the face and eyes, and it doesn’t include talc which means I can wear this as much as I want without fear of breakouts!

D: Derma E Microdermabrasion scrub

This scrub feels so luxurious! It comes in glass packaging and has such a refreshing citrus scent. It does a great job at exfoliating my skin, even though these are some of the finest little scrubbies I’ve ever come across. It has a slight pasty consistency and I love that the jar is completely open so no product is wasted.

E: Eos Stick Lip Balm

These are a newer favorite of mine within the past year, but now I can’t be without them. They’re petrolatum-free and the only lip product to actually heal dry, chapped lips. The formula is super lightweight, they smell amazing, and they’re less than $3 each!

F: Fresh Paint nail polish

The Fresh Paint nail polish at Five Below has accomplished the impossible - good quality, bright neon nail polish. This orange shade is called Guava and the formula is so opaque, it can be completed in just one coat! I went back for another pink shade called Thank U Next and it’s just as impressive!

G: Garnier BB Cream

This was the only BB cream that I was ever impressed with and when I first discovered it, I used it almost every single day! It’s so lightweight , yet provides such high coverage. It blends in easily with the fingers and once set, it looks like actual skin!

H: Hikari eyeliner (Raven)

This might be one of the most smooth retractable eyeliners I’ve ever tried! It glides across the lash line effortlessly and is so rich in pigment. I wish they were more easily accessible than having to order from the brand website because I’d have one of every color!

I: IBY Beauty Highlight & Contour palette

IBY Beauty isn’t a very well-known brand, but they make some amazing products. I was really impressed with the quality of an eyeshadow trio that I got in a previous Boxycharm, and I used to wear this face palette all the time! The quality is amazing and it works great for doubling as eyeshadow. I think the only reason I stopped using it was because I didn’t want to hit pan and not be able to replace it.

J: Jordana eyeliner (Eggplant)

This is definitely one of my most loved products of all time. I can’t even remember how many years I’ve been using this eyeliner. It’s not the smoothest formula ever, but the Eggplant color is beyond flattering and pairs beautifully with so many different eyeshadows.

K: Kiss Impress Press-On Manicure

The world’s most long-lasting press-on nails! It’s been over a year since I first tried this product and I’m still amazed at how perfect they are. They’re not too long, the styles are adorable, they don’t cause any damage to the natural nails, they’re super affordable, and they last forever!

L: Lush Bubble Bars

Besides standard epsom salt, these are the only bath products I use! Although I don’t appreciate their price or the lack of sales, I do appreciate the more natural ingredients they use. The bath bombs are fun, but the bubble bars are so much better because they provide the same scent and color as bath bombs just with more bubbles!!

M: Makeup Geek eyeshadow

These have been, and probably always will be, one of my favorite eyeshadow formulas ever. The pigmentation is perfect, the formula is easy to blend, and they’re more affordable than high-end options. Their blushes and bronzers should be an honorable mention because those have been part of my daily face makeup for years. The talc free formula is so helpful for my acne-prone skin!

N: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends Bronzer

Speaking of talc free bronzers, this Neutrogena is my second favorite behind the Makeup Geek contour powders. This one is easier to find in stores, so I tend to reach for it often and have repurchased it multiple times. The warm tones might seem a little intimidating at first, but they are so flattering when paired with a fresh Summer tan!

O: Ofra eyeshadow (Bliss)

I’ve always loved the formula of this eyeshadow, but it wasn’t until this year that I realized how pretty this shade actually is. This medium bronze shimmer is beautiful both on its own and when paired with darker crease shades to create a smokey eye. The pigmentation is perfect and the formula is buttery smooth!

Tutorial: Brown Smokey Eye, Two-Step Eye Makeup

P: Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip (ReallyRose)

These are one of the only liquid lipsticks I will ever wear! They can still dry out the lips, so I don’t wear them very often and I usually apply a gloss over top. But the colors are gorgeous and the formula is full of pigment! The ReallyRose shade is my absolute favorite!

Q: Q-tips

I use Q-tips for all kinds of different beauty purposes. They’ve been around forever and they’re great for removing mascara mistakes, applying acne spot treatments like the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, or even removing nail polish from the cuticles.

R: Rosebud Perfume Co.

One of the best lip balms on the market! I can’t even count how many times I’ve repurchased all the different scents. They’re usually around $7 each and the formula is so smooth. It’s not thick or heavy at all, yet is still incredibly moisturizing.

S: Sinful Colors nail polish

Sinful Colors is definitely my all-time favorite nail polish brand! They’re super affordable at only $2 a bottle and the quality is always amazing. They last a long time on the nails, there are a ton of colors to choose from, and the formula is very opaque and easy to work with. I just wish they’d switch to a larger curved brush!

T: Trèstique Concealer Crayon

I just discovered this concealer crayon this year and it immediately became a favorite! The shade Bisque is the perfect match for my skin tone and the amount of coverage it provides is just insane! The formula is smooth, lightweight, and actually looks like real skin once blended in.

U: Ulta Rose Gold eyeshadow palette

This was a difficult one to choose because I love so many Ulta brand products. Their nail polishes are great, they have some really smooth eyeliners, and I’ve found quite a few comfortable lip products. But I chose to include their Rose Gold eyeshadow palette because it was the focus of my very first tutorial on my blog - more than four years ago!

V: Violet Voss Essentials eyeshadow palette

This is the first and only product I’ve tried from the Violet Voss brand, but I definitely want to add more to my collection. The shadows in this palette are amazing quality! They’re pigmented, smooth, and blend effortlessly on the eyes.

W: Wet n Wild eyeshadow

Wet n Wild has been known for years to be incredibly pigmented with a buttery smooth texture. They consistently produce high-quality products at very affordable prices. These two 10 pan palettes (My Glamour Squad and Rose in the Air) stay at the front of my collection at all times!

X, Y, Z: N/A

Unfortunately, I don’t have any products to feature for either of these last three letters. I do think I’ve tried some brands that start with X, Y, or Z but they weren’t anything special enough to mention as a favorite.

Tag posts are some of my favorites to create because they’re so much fun! Even though I wasn’t able to feature any products for the last three letters, the rest of the challenge was actually pretty easy. I chose the first brand and product that came to mind, even though there were multiple options for many letters. This would be a fun tag for all kinds of different categories!

I challenge you to try doing this tag yourself! If you have a blog or social media, don’t forget to tag me in your post so I can see your choices too! Otherwise, I’d love to know some of your answers in the comments section at the end of the post!
