March Favorites

This has to have been one of the most wild months I’ve ever had in my life. Not only with all the confusion going on in the world right now, but my personal life has been all over the place. I’ll elaborate more on that in the future. But for now, I have a ton of new favorite products to share. Skincare has still been my biggest focus, but I found some new eyeshadows and lip products that are just as exciting.
Leave-in conditioner has been pretty important to me lately and I’m still trying to find one that I really like. There have been a few that I’ve enjoyed, although none of them have been exactly what I’m looking for. I tried out this Shea Moisture Kids Ultra-Moisturizing Detangler based on Jessica Bruan's recommendation. I absolutely love that it smells like marshmallows and that the spray nozzle provides a nice, fine mist. It definitely helps make my hair easier to comb through and leaves it feeling soft. Though I do wish it would give me the shine that I’m looking for.
The St. Ives Apricot scrub has been one of my favorites for years. I can’t even count how many times I’ve repurchased it! I remember enjoying their Green Tea scrub in the past, so I decided to try that one again. It has much smaller scrubbies in it than the Apricot one, which makes it slightly more gentle on the skin. It exfoliates my skin perfectly and leaves it super smooth. But it’s the scent that I’ve been enjoying the most. It’s so clean and refreshing!
I found this Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm in my cabinet and brought it back out again so I can use it up because it’s been in there for such a long time. I really liked this when I first got it, but kinda stopped using it because I thought it was causing my skin to break out. Watching this stuff remove makeup is seriously like magic. It’s so impressive!
A new product I’ve been loving is this Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer. I love their Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydrating Eye Gel and this moisturizer is just as luxurious. Incorporating hyaluronic acid into my skincare routine has been huge for me lately since I started derma rolling. This moisturizer is incredibly lightweight and soaks into the skin quickly. Because it’s so hydrating, a little bit of this goes a long way so I’m expecting this tub to last quite a while.
Although I’m still really enjoying the Peter Thomas Roth eye gel, I love trying new eye creams and couldn’t wait to start testing this Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes that I got in my latest Boxycharm. This one has a thicker consistency that isn’t as slippery as the Peter Thomas Roth gel and absorbs into the skin faster. It’s too soon to notice any difference in my fine lines, but I have been enjoying its luxurious consistency.
This Winter I’ve been battling dry lips, which is something I’ve never really dealt with before. I’ve tried so many different oils, balms, etc to find only one that actually made a difference - the eos stick lip balm. However, that’s not ideal for wearing overnight, so I started looking for some kind of longer wearing lip butter or mask. I specifically wanted something with hyaluronic acid and no petroleum.

The Milani Rose Butter Lip Mask is exactly what I was looking for. My only concern was the consistency. I’m super picky about the texture of lip products, but thankfully this is pretty comfortable. It’s thick enough to nourish the lips without feeling heavy or sticky. Stay tuned for a full review of this product on Thursday!
My last skincare favorite are these Derma E face mists. I posted my full review of these earlier this month and have been loving them ever since. I’m not sure that I have a favorite because it really depends on my mood and what scent I’m looking for in each moment. I love the fine mist that they have and how refreshing they feel throughout the day. I’ve even been reaching for these over the Mario Badescu sprays!
My makeup this month has really been kept to a minimum and I’m using a lot of the same products I’ve mentioned before in past favorites like the Cover FX Perfector Face Palette, the Neutrogena blush and bronzer, and Wet n Wild’s 10-pan palettes (Rose in the Air and My Glamour Squad). But Elf just released these new Bite-Size eyeshadow quads and with a price point of $3 each, I just couldn’t help myself!

The two shade selections that I chose are Cream & Sugar (neutrals) and Rose Water (mauves). I’m still testing these, so I don’t have a full opinion just yet but so far I’m really impressed. Each palette does have two shimmers and one matte. I would’ve preferred an even amount of both. Though I can’t complain too much because the pigmentation is spectacular!
I’ve been impressed with two new lip products this month, both of which were also included in my March Boxycharm. The first is this Becca Ultimate Lip Definer in the shade Vacation. Although I do think there’s a quality issue with the smudger coming off on the end, that’s not a feature I’d probably ever use anyway. The formula is very creamy and glides on the lips effortlessly. Definitely one of the smoothest lip liners I’ve ever tried.
The packaging on this Appeal Cosmetics Ultra Créme Lipstick is absolutely adorable! I love that it has a satin finish to provide just the right amount of shine to the lips. The shade I have is called Muse and it’s the perfect pink for Spring! The formula is just as impressive as everything else. It’s smooth, lightweight, and full of pigment. Total lipstick perfection!
My last favorite is this Cutex Strength-Shield nail polish remover. I never used to think it mattered what nail polish remover I chose, as long as it did its job and took the color off of my nails. They were out of stock at Walmart when I went to repurchase the one I usually get, so I picked up this one. I don’t even remember the last time I used the actual Cutex brand and omg, let me tell you! This is sooo much better.

I’m used to scrubbing pretty hard to get my nail polish off and it usually takes me around five minutes. With this Cutex brand remover, my polish was off in a matter of seconds and I completed both hands faster than I ever have before. I’m definitely never going without this again!
With all the chaos that’s going on in the world right now, these products have brought so much excitement to my life. As simple as it may be, I really do look forward to the times in my day when I get to use those skincare products. This nail polish remover has me wanting to change my polish multiple times a week just so I can see its magic! And who knew a $3 eyeshadow quad could be so amazing?? It’s all so satisfying!
