Iced Caramel Coffee

Iced coffee is one of the best things ever! Whether it’s made by simply adding ice to freshly brewed hot coffee or if it’s been sitting in a room temperature cold brew container for 12+ hours, it’s always a happy treat. I’ve had a cold brew method that I’ve used for years, but I recently discovered a product that makes the process a whole lot easier. And combining it with a new caramel creamer has been my latest obsession!

Originally, I made my cold brew using two plastic pitchers. I combined the coffee grounds with water and let it sit at room temperature for at least 14 hours before straining. The straining process was kinda annoying, but the flavor was beyond worth it so I didn’t mind too much.

I recently found this large size glass mason jar on Amazon and it has totally eliminated the coffee straining struggle. It comes with a stainless steel filter that holds the grounds for effortless removal and the flip top cap makes it easy to pour without any mess. I still let it brew at room temperature for 14+ hours before removing the coffee grounds, and I love having a glass jar instead of plastic!

I leave the cold brew black and just add syrup and creamer for each cup. I use different creamers all the time, but Coffee Mate just released a new caramel flavor and it is so good! Liquid syrups are the best way to add sugar to a cold beverage and Torani is definitely my favorite. There are a ton of flavors to choose from, but I love emphasizing the caramel creamer by adding in a caramel sauce.

When I’m ready to enjoy a glass of iced coffee, I pour the cold brew over some ice, stir in the caramel sauce, and add the creamer. If I’m feeling fancy, I’ll even add a dollop or two of homemade whipped cream (½ cup whipping cream + 1 tbsp sugar) and finish it off with a few extra drizzles of caramel sauce on top. That makes for one happy looking cup of coffee!

Caramel was definitely one of the basic flavors Coffee Mate was missing among their products. They’ve had a Vanilla Caramel for a while, but not just a plain Caramel. They taste completely different and this one is so much better! Between this new creamer + syrup combo and the mason jar pitcher + filter, I’ve been in iced coffee heaven!
