March Favorites

Spring has finally arrived and I am here for it! Aside from all the new pollen in the air irritating my allergies, I have been loving the warmer weather! This was a long and busy month that was both exciting and exhausting. In the midst of it all, I discovered a bunch of new beauty products that have quickly become part of my daily routine along with a few household items that have made life so much easier.

I’ve had a cold brew method that I’ve used for years and it worked perfectly fine without any issues. But this mason jar pitcher that I found on Amazon has made the entire process much easier! It has a stainless steel filter that sits in the jar, so instead of draining the grounds through a sifter and into a new pitcher like I used to do now I can just pull the filter out and enjoy! I also really like that it’s glass instead of plastic and that it comes with a flip top lid for easy pouring.

I’m not sure how new these WoodWick Petite Candles are to the market, but I just found them at Walmart for less than $3 each! It’s a great idea for events, trying new scents, or to place in a small space. They don’t have a very long burn time, but once they start melting the scent can easily fill a room.

Candles definitely smell a lot different once they heat up, so these are a great option to try before committing to a full size. I thought I was going to enjoy the Blue Java Banana more, but I actually prefer the Vanilla & Sea Salt scent. They’re both really nice, I just wasn’t picking up as much of a fruity note from the Blue Java Banana as I was expecting.

A few months ago, I accidentally broke one of my resistance bands during Pilates. I was pushing it out with my feet and it sprung back to pop me right in the chest. Thankfully, it didn’t leave a mark or break any skin! We ended up replacing it with a different type of band and I have been really enjoying this new style!

The set came with five different weight options that can be used alone or combined together, two foot straps, two foam handles, and a door anchor. The kind I had before was just a wide band and while I was very happy with it, I love having all the different weight options and the handles are much more comfortable than holding the band in my hand.

Earlier in the month my feet were feeling really tired and sore even when I wasn’t standing on them much during the day. I searched for different massage options on Amazon and decided to go with this roller style. It feels amazing! I use this almost every day and my feet have been loving me for it. I only use it for about 10 minutes at a time and usually have to force myself to walk away! I love how small it is and that I can use it almost anywhere.

Another new massage method I’ve been really enjoying is gua sha. This trend has been taking over the beauty community for the past few months and I finally got around to trying it myself. It took a little while to completely understand the technique, but once I got it down and incorporated it into my morning routine I have seen such a difference in my face! My skin is tighter, more sculpted, and refreshed after each massage. In case you missed it, don’t forget to check out the post I published last week with all the benefits and details!

The Bath & Body Works body mists are pretty much the only fragrance product that I like to wear. Traditional perfumes always seem too heavy for me and have a strong alcohol base. Sweet and fruity scents are my favorite, so I usually restock when the new Spring fragrances are released.

This year, I picked up Fiji Sunshine Guava-Tini and Coconut Cream Pie. Fiji has notes of guava, orange, and jasmine whereas Coconut Cream Pie is more sweet smelling with toasted coconut flakes, caramel custard, and buttery crust. Both are strong enough to provide a long-lasting scent without overwhelming my entire space.

The day I picked up the body mists, they were having a sale so I also decided to try the Vanilla Buttercream Hand Cream. It smells like actual cupcakes! I love applying their travel size lotions on my hands at night, but this is my first time trying the actual hand cream formula. It takes a little more time to absorb into the skin because it has a slightly more silky consistency, otherwise I think it works just as well as their regular lotions.

Most crayon concealers tend to have a dry consistency, which can make them difficult and patchy to blend. However, this Merit Beauty Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick is one of a kind! This is a newer brand to the beauty market and so far they’re making a great impression. The Linen shade is just a tiny bit too light for me, but it looks totally fine with the help of some bronzer. The formula is very easy to work with and the coverage is amazing!

My last few favorites are for the eyes. The Elf Bite-Size eyeshadow quad in Cream & Sugar was practically all I wore last Spring and since then I had almost forgotten about it. I decided to bring it back out and have fallen in love with it all over again. The quality is amazing and the shades are incredibly flattering.

I love pairing this quad with the Pacifica eyeliner in the shade Fringe. It’s been my favorite brown eyeliner for years and it’s the perfect compliment to this color combination. There are a few different ways that I like to wear this palette, but the look I create the most is the method I shared in my tutorial featuring these products. It’s easy, classic chic, and perfect for any occasion.

Another product I’ve been reunited with is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Boosting Serum. This is one of the few lash serums that has actually made a difference on my lashes. It’s been about a year since I’ve last used it and figured it was time for a repurchase. I’m so happy to have this back in my routine and can already see my lashes growing thicker and longer with just a few weeks use! In case you missed it, don’t forget to check out my full review of this product with before and after photos of its results.

Although I’m a little concerned with all the April showers next month may bring, I am definitely looking forward to the full Spring experience. It’s one of the best times of the year because the mosquitoes haven’t come out yet and I have all the excuses to wear everything pastel! I’m already planning out my manicures and searching for cute dresses!
