November Boxycharm Unboxing

It’s time to get excited! My Boxycharm has finally arrived!! If you are unfamiliar with Boxycharm, they are a $21 monthly beauty subscription service that gives you five full-size products in each box. It’s my favorite beauty subscription service that’s out there and if you would like to find out more and give it a try, you can click this link. I’m going to start out by reviewing last month’s products before we get into what was in this month's box. If you haven’t read October's post to see what I got, click here first.

~Lord & Berry Dark Black Eyeliner~ I didn’t use this eyeliner very much throughout the month, but that’s not because there was anything wrong with it. I think it’s a very smooth, highly pigmented eyeliner that has great staying power. I just have other black eyeliners in my rotation that I’m trying to finish first. I will get to it, though. You can never have too many black eyeliners!

~Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara~ This is the product in the box that I didn’t really like. It’s kind of scary to use because the wand is so huge, but the actual product in the tube is very clumpy. It reminded me most of L’oreal’s Voluminous Mascara, except way more thick. I know some people like that in a mascara, and if you do I'd recommend the L'oreal one more because it does give crazy volume while still being more affordable and easily accessible.

~BellĂ¡pierre Cosmetics Cheek & Lip Stain (Coral)~ While I do like this product, I don’t think I’m going to be using it very much in the fall and winter months because it’s very bright and fresh looking when applied to the lips. It does feel nice and light, but I think it would be a little too greasy to apply to my already oily cheeks.

~Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask~ I only used this once in the past month because I had some breakouts and this mask isn’t strong enough to combat those issues. But the time that I did use it, I did notice the cooling sensation that it claimed. I think it’d be best for those with dry skin. It took about 30 minutes to dry, which I thought was a long time. While it felt luxurious, I don’t think it’s worth such a steep price tag.

~Cult Nail Polish (Boneyards)~ I still can’t get over how perfect the name is for this polish shade! It had a more gel-like feel to it when applying it on the nails, but it didn’t have a very good wear time. It started chipping on the fourth day, whereas my cheap and beloved Sinful Colors wears for about six days.

I think last month’s box was just okay, I don’t feel like I was super blown away by any particular product like I had been in previous months. However, they did make up for it with this month’s box. I’m really excited about multiple products I received, so let’s get to it!

The product I had to pull out first because it opened and spilled a little bit was the Coolway Leave-In Treatment. I was surprised at first because I thought it was a travel size, but when I referred to the handy description card they include I read it was a full-size product that retails at $19.95 for 2 oz. I think that’s pretty pricey for such a small amount of product. It claims to leave hair shiny and hydrated with no split ends. An immediate thing I noticed was that it says to spray onto hair, which isn't possible because it has a pump. Since it has spilled in the box, I also immediately noticed that it smelled really good not like a typical hair care product.
Next I recognized the beautiful brush design and pulled out the Luxie 211 Concealer brush ($12). I received a brush from this line in my ipsy bag before and really like it. Not only because the colors are gorgeous, but they are really nice quality. I don’t particularly like these type of flat brushes for liquid products on the face, but I do find them convenient for packing color onto the eyelid. Since this one comes to a point, I think it would be nice for directing color precisely into the crease.

The third product I saw was in a bigger blue box. This is the Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum from PÅ«r~lisse. This is another one of those items that makes my jaw drop when reading the card. It retails at $65 for .5 oz! I’m expecting some serious results from this little guy. It says it provides intense hydration, firms, decreases puffiness, and brightens. It’s made with soy protein and French marine plants. I didn’t notice any scent to it and it does have a pump. That doesn’t make a difference to me, but I know that can be a deal breaker for a lot of people if it didn’t.
The product in the bubble wrap was this StudioMakeup Soft Blend Blush in the shade Wildflower ($17 for .17 oz). When I opened this up, I thought the packaging looked so fancy on the inside. I also immediately fell in love with the color. I think a lot of people would say it’s a wonderful color for fall, but this is in the range of my favorite blush colors anyway so I will definitely use it all year round. And as if I wasn’t excited enough, when swatching it on my hand it felt like butter! It is so smooth and so highly pigmented, I can’t even believe it. I did look it up and the first ingredient is talc, so it won’t be an everyday product for me unfortunately but I am very grateful that it’s completely matte! Yayy!
The last thing in the box was the Liplocked Priming Gloss Stain by Manna Kadar. I have it in the shade All of Me and this product sells for $24 (.18 oz). Usually I’m not super happy about getting lip products in the box since I’m not a huge lippie junkie, but I thought this color was so stunning and I love that it didn’t have any scent to it. If I can smell anything in a gloss, I don’t put it on my lips. I’m also really intrigued by the priming and staining claims it has for it being a lipgloss. I will definitely be putting that to the test!
Although we didn’t, or I didn’t at least, get this product in my box it did come with a separate card underneath the description card for LVX nail polishes. I’ve never tried anything from that brand so I don’t have any reviews or recommendations, but you can use the code BOXYLVX to get 25% off of your purchase on their website. The code is valid now until 12/31/15. I’m really excited about this month’s box and can’t wait to test all of the products out! Again, they've made me speechless with a $138 value, I have no idea how they do it! Tell me in the comments below if you got the same products and what your thoughts are. Have a beautiful day!
