NuMe Lustrum Curling Wand Set Review

In one of the blog posts that I published last week, I mentioned how unruly and curly my hair can be and how I’ve given up on trying to straighten it. Although it can be a good thing that there are so many ways to style curly hair and so many different types of curls possible, it also takes time to figure out what tools and products work best. Depending on the day, I’ll either curl my hair with a curling cream or use a curling wand to get the look I want. But with a million different curling wands available, how am I supposed to know which one is the best option?

NuMe has become very popular lately and their products really intrigued me, but they are so extremely expensive. The Lustrum Curling Wand Set that I’m going to be reviewing today retails on their website for $250! While I am absolutely in love with these curling wands and think they do wonderful things for my hair, I do not recommend paying anywhere near that amount for a hair tool. What I suggest is trying to find the best coupon code you can from your favorite Youtubers, which is what I did and got it for $100 instead. I don’t think I got free shipping, but it did arrive sooner than expected.
In this set, you get five different curling wand attachments, a heat-resistant glove, and a roll-up storage case. The different sized curling wands are ¾ inch, 1 inch, 1 ½  inch, a reverse, and a pearl wand. The handle doesn’t have a temperature control and heats up to 410° F. I don't mind that since I usually like it as hot as it can go anyway to get the job done faster. The barrels are 100% tourmaline-infused ceramic coated and it uses infrared heat and negative ion technology to give you lasting, shiny curls. If you can use the glove, then I highly recommend doing that because I have burned myself using this and it does not feel good! I tried using the glove, but it made it really difficult because I couldn’t feel the hair to know what I was doing. The provided case is pretty convenient and I do store everything in there for protection.

These are the results I got when using the smallest ¾ inch barrel. I really liked the way this one looked, the curls were bouncy and had good form to them. Since it gives such tight curls, it could also be a quick way to have a little bit shorter hair for the day.

This is what my hair looked like when using the 1 inch barrel, which is probably the one I’ve used the most. I like that the curls aren’t too tight or too loose. I always go through the front sections of my hair with a straightener because I think it gives a softer look than having harsh curls around the face. But that’s just personal preference, you do what makes you feel your best!

When using the 1 ½ inch wand, it gave me more of a wavy look than curly. This would be a good option if you already have manageable hair and just need a quick little something to give it some life before you run out the door. Because it’s bigger, I have to keep the hair on the wand a little longer than the others just to make sure it fully picks the curls up. Otherwise it can tend to look a little more straight on me.

The reverse curling wand is something I think we’re beginning to see more companies produce, and for good reason. It’s a bit of a different concept with it being thicker by the handle and getting smaller towards the end of the wand. I like it because it makes the hair look soft around the crown of the head, but keeps the hair tighter at the ends where it tends to fall straight by the end of the day.

My least favorite would probably be the pearl wand just because it’s more confusing to use and makes curling the hair more difficult than the others. The style of the wand gives a little different look to the curls each time, but is harder when you’re trying to release the hair off of the wand because it doesn’t just slide off as it does with the other barrels.

Other than how shiny these curling wands make my hair, I’m so impressed with how long my curls stay throughout the day! With other curling irons that I’ve had in the past, my curls would have fallen straight halfway through the day. I’m not a big hairspray junkie because I don’t like adding all of that extra product in my hair and with these curling wands, the curls stay in place the entire day even without hairspray. I’ve had this set for over two months now and have been enjoying it so much. I do highly recommend it, just please don’t forget to search for a coupon code. I don’t have one of my own, but there are plenty out there. This would also be a good Christmas gift to give or to ask for since Christmas will be here before we know it!

I’ll start out by following up with last week’s Boneyards by Cult from my October Boxycharm. I did like the application of it, but unfortunately it did start chipping on the fourth day. And we all know once it starts chipping a little, it just keeps getting worse. So while it was a great color for fall, I can’t say that I would recommend it. This week, however, I’m back to one of my favorites! I’m wearing Soul Mate by Sinful Colors. I think we all know by now that this is my favorite brand ever, but this color y’all!! Omg! I just got it about a month or so ago and I can already tell that this is going to be one of those that I’ll just keep repurchasing. The first time I wore it, I couldn’t stop staring at my nails. It’s the most beautiful muted pink color, I just can’t get enough! You definitely need this in your life!
I hope you found this review helpful, let me know if you have tried any NuMe products before or if there are any concerns that I didn't address. Have an awesome day! Hopefully the weather you're having is better than the gloomy skies we've been having in Florida.
