Revlon Lip Butters Review

Lip butters were so popular when they were first released, but since lip stains and liquid lipsticks have been introduced it’s all anyone’s ever talking about now. I’m still stuck on the lip butters, though, and just can’t get enough of them. Of course, many brands have offered different formulas but the Revlon Lip Butters have always been my favorite. I haven’t ever really been a fan of lipstick because they tend to be more drying (I would always reach for a tinted lip balm instead), but lip butters are in the same form as a lipstick just a different texture.

The formula of these Revlon lip butters are so smooth and incredibly comfortable to wear. They do have a bit of a shine to them, but I actually like that because I never got with the matte lip trend either. I do like to wear a lip balm underneath just for added moisture, but they don’t feel heavy at all and are effortless to apply. I never have to worry about them bleeding out of the lines and being a drugstore item, they’re definitely affordable at around $5 each.

The first color I’m showing you is Wild Watermelon. It’s a beautiful red shade that has blue undertones, so it’ll make your teeth look more white. It can almost look pink in certain lighting and is one of my favorite shades to wear when I don’t want such an intense classic red lip. You’ll notice that all of these are a bit more sheer than traditional lipsticks, but still provide a good amount of color when applied on the lips.

This next one is my absolute favorite lip color that I’ve ever tried, it’s the shade Berry Smoothie. I always get compliments and questions when I wear it, which of course is the best feeling ever! This is the shade you’ll usually see me wearing (or Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me) because it looks good with absolutely everything and something I don’t have to think about when I don’t know what else to wear. I’ve repurchased this particular shade four times now and it has a permanent home in my purse. I can’t be without it!

The last one I have is Candy Apple, which is a more true red, but I can pick up just a hint of orange undertones in certain lighting and when it’s paired with certain colors. That’s not always a bad thing in a red lip color, but not always the most flattering with my skin tone so this is one I have to be slightly more careful with. It’s also the one that requires a mirror for application because if you mess up, it’s definitely noticeable.

Although I love Berry Smoothie the most, I really do like all of the lip butters from this line and definitely plan on adding more to my collection. Revlon knocked it out of the park with these, I am really impressed! I think I’d even go far enough to say that these lip butters are probably my favorite lip product out of all the ones I own. I definitely recommend picking one up if you haven’t given them a try already. If you have, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Hope you have a fabulous weekend! :)
