The Beauty Blogger Tag
As I was looking through which tag I wanted to do this month, there were a few that came to mind. Then I realized I hadn’t ever done The Beauty Blogger Tag before and almost couldn’t believe myself! I’ve done quite a few other beauty tags previously (which you can find here), but I must’ve skipped over this one somehow. I always love talking about makeup and anything beauty related, so of course I jumped right to it. I think I’ve covered a few of these topics previously, but let’s get straight to the questions and see what kind of a beauty blogger I really am! ;)
1.) What is your natural hair color? Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
The brown you see in the picture above is my natural hair color. I’ve never dyed my hair until last year when I put a blue streak in it, then switched to pink a few months later. I don’t plan on dying all of my hair any time soon and I am beginning to let the pink grow out. I’m someone who actually really likes my natural hair color. Thank goodness, I’m high maintenance enough as it is!!
2.) How often do you wash your hair?
Every. Single. Night. I know some people say it’s not good for you and that the oiliness will get better after a while, but no. I’m washing my hair every night. Aside from how incredibly oily it is by 8pm, I like to be clean when I go to bed and not washing my hair would just kill me!
3.) Will you leave the house without makeup?
If I’m staying in the car or doing something active like swimming, biking, beach, etc. then yes. But if I have to go in a store or somewhere that people will actually see me, then no way. I’ll at least put on a little concealer and mascara!
4.) How long does it take you to do your makeup?
For a full face, it’s usually around 30 minutes but can go up to 45 minutes if I’m just relaxing and want to play around. But if I’m just doing something quick to run to the grocery, then it’s around 20 minutes. #noshame
5.) Do you read the comments on your posts?
Absolutely! And I make it a point to reply to every one of them as soon as I can. If there’s ever a time where I don’t reply to a comment, it’s because I didn’t get a notification for it. I love comments and creating conversation! ♥
6.) What camera do you use for your photos?
I know everyone and their momma uses a Canon, but I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70. I think this particular model is discontinued, but I do really like it. It definitely took a while for me to learn a “big girl” camera, but I think I’ve gotten most of it down now. 7.) What skin type do you have?
Like we don’t all already know this? Oily! Extremely, extremely, extremely oily! And I don’t like it.
8.) What is your current facial cleanser?
I use the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser and I love it! You can find my entire skincare routine here along with all the other products I use. I used to really like Clinique’s Acne Solutions Foaming cleanser and although that did take care of my acne initially, the Cetaphil has done a great job of keeping my skin clear. I love that it’s super gentle and very affordable!
9.) Do you have freckles?
I never had freckles growing up, but they have started showing up within the past couple of years. Only when I go out in the sun, though. And I have to say, I’m not really mad about it.
10.) What is your favorite eyeshadow color?
Another one we all already know - Ulta’s Naked single eyeshadow. I love this one in particular because the formula is amazing and it can be used for so many different things. I’ve used it all over the lid, to highlight my inner corner, to highlight my browbone and even to brighten my dark circles. I’m hitting serious pan on this shadow for the second time!
11.) How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
I don’t mean to brag or anything, but almost never. I will every now and then, but it’s very rare. So rare that I can’t even remember the last time I did it.
12.) Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
It just depends. Either one I use, I will always set it with a powder eyeshadow. Liquid usually tends to last longer, but can also provide a more dramatic effect than what I’m wanting sometimes.
13.) What is your favorite lipstick?
Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. I can’t even think about how many times I have purchased this lipstick. It’s the perfect berry shade that literally matches with anything and the Revlon Lip Butter formula is super comfortable to wear.
14.) Name a makeup crime that you hate.
Too dark and too bold brows. Eyebrows became a huge thing in the beauty community within the past couple of years and sometimes things can go way overboard. I think eyebrows should follow your natural browbone shape and only be a shade or two lighter/darker than your hair. There’s nothing wrong with spending time perfecting your brows, just keep it natural and stay away from the cavewoman vibes please.
15.) Do you like drugstore makeup?
Duhh! That’s almost all I ever use. Of course, I love high-end products too because I’m a total makeup addict, but I’ll only purchase them if I find it on super sale. Otherwise, I enjoy finding the best products the drugstore has to offer.
