My Top 5 Most Repurchased Skincare Products

Makeup, typically, will always take the stage when it comes to talking about beauty. It’s just fun! There’s so much to talk about, there’s so much you can do with it, there’s so many options. However, as fun as makeup may be, it should never become more important than skincare. It took me forever to realize this, but you will never have a good makeup day if your skin isn’t happy. It doesn’t matter how wonderful a makeup product is, a finished makeup look will never appear completely flawless if the skin behind it isn’t well taken care of. I understand skincare can be annoying and it takes so much time to discover what works best for each individual face, but it’s so important! I seem to have gotten into a pretty good routine over the years and now have my favorites that I continue to repurchase. Here are my top 5:

Having such oily, acne-prone skin, my teenage years were no joke. I tried everything I could to try to get it under control. Clinique’s Acne Solution line was the only thing that helped at the time, but now that I’m older I don’t have as many problems anymore. Since my acne was under control, I looked for a cleanser that was more gentle and fell in love the the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. I use the one for normal to oily skin and it is wonderful! It couldn’t be more simple of a cleanser and it leaves my face feeling super clean. It’s easy to find at the drugstore and less than $10. I use this about two to three times a day.
Even though I’ve found something to replace the other two items from the Clinique Acne Solution line, I still haven’t come across a facial moisturizer that can beat this one. Their All Over Clearing Treatment is the most expensive item in my routine, coming in at $25, but it’s worth every penny. I do only use it once a day, though, so it does last me a while. This has benzoyl peroxide in it and is the most lightweight moisturizer I’ve ever put on my face. I legitimately get sad if I ever have to go a day without this. After a little over seven years of use, it’s still something I get excited to apply every morning.
I discovered this Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask about four years ago and I’ve never looked back since. Once I found out about face masks in middle school, I became obsessed and stuck to a bi-weekly routine. Nothing has changed my skin as much as this mask has. After continuous use, I’ve noticed my skin become less red and more even toned, my pores have gotten significantly smaller, and my acne is more under control. I wrote a complete post explaining all the details about this mask when I first started my blog back in 2015 (it was my fifth published post) and I continue to mention it every chance I get. It’s magic and super affordable! This 2-lb tub cost me around $10 and can easily last a year or more, with bi-weekly applications.
Skincare doesn’t always have to include the face. Taking care of your body is just as important. I use this Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub once a week in the shower before I shave and it leaves my body feeling extremely smooth. It’s such a wonderful experience and something I always look forward to. I prefer more harsh scrubs to really get the job done and this brand is definitely the best. Not to mention that their scents fill up the entire bathroom! These are pretty easy to find at drugstores and Ulta, they last me about a month and a half, and they’re super affordable under $10.
Another thing that took me forever to learn when I was younger was that I still needed to moisturize my skin, no matter how oily I was. I thought that since I had extremely oily skin, I needed to do whatever I could to strip the oils away. Wrong! Breakouts can occur when your skin is super oily or super dry. The trick is to find a happy balance. For me, that’s this c. Booth 4-in-1 body lotion. I can usually find it at either Ulta or Target for around $10. I use it every night after I get out of the shower and it always lasts me a good six months. It absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t leave behind any greasy residue. My favorite thing about it is the ingredients. It does have fragrance, but is perfect for sensitive skin. That’s usually something incredibly difficult to find!
All of these products are absolutely amazing and I would recommend them for anyone with skin similar to mine. However, one thing to keep in mind is that all skin is different and even if someone has a similar skin type as you, not all products will perform on everyone the exact same way. You don’t always have to invest a ton of money in skincare, but you do have to invest your time. Remember, skin is 90% of your selfie and something you will carry with you forever. Take care of it!

I feel like it’s been years since I’ve worn this Sinful Colors nail polish in the shade Rise and Shine. I used to wear it all the time and I guess I just kinda forgot about it. Since today is Memorial Day, I was looking for a red or blue to wear. I’ve been wearing a lot of reds lately and I forgot I haven’t repurchased my favorite true blue yet (Sinful Colors - Most Sinful), so I ended up with this one. It’s more of a teal than what I was going for, but I'm happy with this bright Summer shade. It has the slightest amount of glitter in it too!
What’s on your nails this week?
