November Boxycharm Unboxing

It all started with my Boxycharm boxes showing up later and later. Now it’s done a complete 180 and they’ve been arriving earlier and earlier, usually before I even receive my tracking email! I’m not complaining, though. I am so happy about it! Not only do I get my products earlier so I can do more testing, but it’s also a surprise that always brightens my day. Honestly, the box is worth it just for that! As usual, let’s quickly run through last month’s products before getting into the new goodies.

~Farmacy Beauty Green Clean Cleansing Balm~ I was so surprised with this! I went into it thinking it was interesting, but maybe a little gimmicky. It was so impressive! It removed literally every drop of makeup I had on my face without a hassle. I even featured it in my recent favorites it’s so good!

~Dermovia Lace A Peel Black Bamboo Charcoal Peel Off Mask~ This one was no good. I applied the peel paste as directed and placed the lace over top of it. Because there were straps that go around the ear, the lace didn’t stick to my nose so nothing got peeled up. But aside from that, it didn’t even stick to the paste I had on the side of my face. Do not waste your money on this!

~Pür Cosmetics Midnight Masquerade Palette~ I knew as soon as I saw the color selection that I wasn’t going to enjoy this palette. And I didn’t. There wasn’t really anything I could do with it. I thought at least the bright highlighter shade would be able to do something, but the quality wasn’t there on that either. It’s so disappointing because normally I love Pür Cosmetics products! They just really missed it with this one.

~It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara~ It’s good, but it’s not my favorite. It adds length and volume, you just have to be extremely careful during application. Otherwise it can get way too clumpy real quick. I talked about my favorite technique with this mascara in last week’s full review.

~Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick (Lovesick)~ I was scared to try this one because normally I can’t stand matte liquid lipsticks. I’ve liked everything else I’ve tried from Kat Von D in the past and this is just as good. The formula is extremely lightweight, and it didn’t leave my lips feeling dry or sticky. It almost felt like a powder finish once it dried. I’d definitely recommend this lippie!

Last month’s products were great for testing purposes. I was able to confirm my suspicions of the Pür Cosmetics palette and form my own opinions of the Superhero mascara that is so popular. Mostly I’m still just really shocked at the quality of the cleansing balm and the liquid lipstick! The theme for this month’s box is Goal Digger and already looks promising because the women featured on the inside of the notecard look more classy than any of the previous months.
The first product in the box is the Luxie Luminous Eye brush set. This comes with four eye brushes and is a $21 value. Luxie has been included in Boxycharm many times and they always have the cutest brush packaging. Normally I think their pink handles are precious, but I am obsessing over all this gold!

The four brushes included in the set are the 141 Mini Round brush, the 111 Mini Flat Angled brush, the 131 Mini angled brush, and the 121 Mini Tapered brush. The 141 and 111 can be used in all different areas of the face, even with concealer to cover blemishes. Angled brushes like the 131 are perfect for creating that outer “V” shape in the crease, and I’ve been enjoying smaller blending brushes like the 121 to add a transition shade higher onto my brow bone. These brushes are so unique and Luxie never disappoints on the quality.
I remember when the CoverFX Glitter Drops first came out. I thought they looked so gorgeous, I just had no idea what I could possibly do with them. Now I have the opportunity to try it myself! The shade included in the box is Nova and it’s one of my favorite colors. I love a good champagne gold shimmer! This full size retails at $44 for .5 fl oz, which is about half of what you would receive in a standard foundation.
These are ultra-concentrated drops of multi-dimensional glitter that can be used alone, under or over makeup. They can even be mixed in with foundation, moisturizer, body lotion, and lip products. I have so much playing around to do with this, I can’t wait! I mean, do you see the shimmer in that swatch picture?! Come on!!
We’ve received a few Jontéblu eyeliners before and although they’ve never been my absolute favorite eyeliners in the world, they are pretty good. This is their Glittering Star Eyeliner, which is very affordable coming in at only $5. It seems to have a good amount of pigment and glitter in the swatch, so I just hope it glides on the eyes nice and smoothly.
Eyeshadow palette!! I love receiving palettes in the box, even if they are fails like last month’s. Palettes are just so much fun! This is the Grandiose palette by the brand Ace Beaute. I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I appreciate the slim packaging, the large pan size, the shade names below each shadow, and the price (only $25). Bonus points for all those things!
There is no mirror or applicator included. I would’ve liked to have seen a mirror, but it’s not the end of the world. Hopefully their time and money went into the actual eyeshadow formula instead. I already love the color selection and the few shown swatched below look very promising. I’m keeping my hopes up with this one!!
The last product in the box is also by a brand I have never heard of before. These are the Instaglam False Lashes by Lashaholic. This could very well be a popular brand and I just have no idea because I almost never wear falsies. These retails for $15 and claim to be 100% vegan made from premium silk fibers. Although I’m big into fake lashes, these do look somewhat natural so I’m actually really excited to play around with them and get some practice in. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be a false lash pro!
I am so excited about every single item included in this month’s box. Boxycharm did an amazing job at choosing these products and an even better job at the value. All of these items together total $110. Boxycharm only charges $21! If you haven’t signed up already, I highly recommend doing so asap. I’ve been getting some emails lately and I have a feeling some big things are about to happen in Boxycharm’s very near future!

If you have any questions about any of the products I mentioned, please feel free to leave them for me in the comments section below. Did you receive this month’s Boxycharm? What products are you most excited about?

~Mani Monday~
Last week I got a package of new nail polishes from a brand that I have never tried, or even heard of before. The brand is called EMMA and this particular shade I’m wearing is called Want to Play in the Snow?. Most of the names in this collection are super cute, but this one doesn’t really make very much sense to me. Either way, it’s a gorgeous cranberry shade with a satin finish. I have a bunch of polishes from this brand that I’ll be testing out and I do plan on posting a full review with all the details and swatches, so stay tuned for that!
What’s on your nails this week?
