July Boxycharm Unboxing

It’s the best time of the month! It’s Boxycharm time! It’s kinda like Christmas in July, except it’s every month! I’m coming up on my four year anniversary of being subscribed to Boxycharm and not once have I ever thought about cancelling. They’re by far the best beauty subscription service available. Now before we get into all of the new goodies, let’s quickly review the amazing products from last month’s box.

~St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse~ I have a full review planned to go up soon with before and after photos of my results. But in short, I totally understand all the hype behind this tan now! There were a few things about this formula that I wasn’t used to, but the color was gorgeous and lasted an entire week.

~Touch in Sol No Poreblem Prime Essence~ I liked this just as much as I liked their original No Poreblem primer. They are completely different, though. This one was more watery, but it definitely minimized the appearance of my pores and I do think it did a decent job at controlling my oil.

~Tarte Cosmetics Be You, Naturally palette~ In case you missed my full review or tutorial featuring this palette, I loveee it!! The formula is great, the color selection is perfect, and the packaging could not be any cuter. Definitely my favorite Tarte palette I’ve ever used.

~Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Lip Pencil (Rosie Posie)~ The color of this is really pretty, but I would’ve preferred it in a lipstick formula instead. I use this to completely fill in my lips and the pencil form just takes too long. If it has to be a pencil, I would’ve at least liked it to have been retractable.

~Dominique Cosmetics Lemonade Lip Gloss (Peach Tea)~ I had never even heard of Dominique Cosmetics before receiving this lip gloss last month and with as comfortable as it was, I want one in every shade! It makes the lips look so juicy and smells amazing!

Last month’s box was definitely one of the best. Aside from the traditional lip pencil, I fell in love with every single product. I love it when that happens! The theme for this month is Au Naturale, which immediately caught my attention because I am all about neutral, natural looking makeup!
The first product is the Superfood Vital Veggie Mask from Elemis. I’ve been hearing a lot more about this brand recently, so I’m excited to be able to test out one of their products. This is full size coming in at $35 for 2.5 fl oz. It claims to be a nourishing pre-biotic green mask that will smooth and brighten the skin for a softer, radiant complexion. Some of its key ingredients include Avocado and Broccoli Seed Oils, Vitamin C, and Passion Fruit Acids.
Luxie is a pretty frequent brand included in Boxycharm boxes and the quality of their brushes never disappoint. This time, they featured their new eco-friendly Gaea 3 piece set ($30) which includes the 510 Foundation brush, the 250 Large Eye Blending brush, and the 246 Precision Crease brush.
I don’t really think flat brushes like this are very practical for applying foundation, but they are great for face masks so I’ll definitely be using those two together. You can never have enough blending brushes and the Precision Crease brush looks very unique. I don’t think I have anything like it in my collection, but I can already think of a few good uses for it like packing color in precise areas or smudging shadow along the upper lashes.
What good would new makeup brushes be without a new eyeshadow palette?? This is the Natural Goddess palette from Butter London. It retails for $32 and comes with six eyeshadows, including four shimmer and two matte finishes. It does have names for every shade and a decent sized mirror on the inside, both of which are very appreciated.
I’ve never tried Butter London’s eyeshadow formula before, so I’m super excited to play around with this palette and see the quality it has to offer. The swatches already seem really impressive. The shimmers aren’t too buttery, which I’ve come to realize is actually better for lasting longer on my oily eyes.
Next is an eyeliner from Appeal Cosmetics. This is one of their Gel Liners ($21), which they say can be used to define both the eyes and lips. However, I don’t think I’ll be applying this Forest Green shade anywhere near my lips. It’s not a retractable pencil, but the formula does seem very smooth and creamy. I tend to really like gel pencil liners and I think this color will compliment the shades in the eyeshadow palette beautifully.
The last product in this month’s box is a lip gloss from Alamar Cosmetics. This is part of their new Des-Nude-As collection and the shade I have is called Dulce ($15). They claim for this to be a long lasting, thickening formula that will condition the lips while also providing high shine and full pigmentation. I don’t know how long lasting a gloss can really be and the thickening claim has me a little concerned about how comfortable it’ll feel on the lips. However, I’m keeping a positive mind with this one because I have been really impressed with all the products I’ve tried from Alamar Cosmetics in the past.
The value for all of these products is $133! That’s pretty unbelievable when considering that you only pay $21! I’m super excited about all of these products, but I think I’m most interested in the eyeshadow palette and lip gloss. I haven’t used many nude lip colors before, so I’m curious to see how flattering this will be once it’s actually applied on the lips and paired with various eyeshadow looks.

If you haven’t signed up for Boxycharm yet, I highly recommend it!

If you have any questions about any of the products I mentioned, please feel free to leave them for me in the comments section. Did you get this month’s Boxycharm? What products are you most excited about?
