April Favorites + A Life Update

What a month this has been, y’all! Aside from everything else going on in the world right now, my personal life has also had lots of changes. We’ll get into a little more about that at the end of the post, but first I can’t wait to share all of my current favorite products. We’re talking about food, home, skincare, makeup, and nail favorites that have made life so much easier.
I have been on the hunt for this coffee creamer for months and I finally found it! I’ve become more interested in International Delight creamers because of the variety of flavors they offer compared to other brands. I also love that these creamers are lactose free, so I can drink it first thing in the morning without worrying about upsetting my insides.

There have been a few other flavors that I’ve enjoyed so far, but this White Chocolate Raspberry is the one I’ve been most excited about. Now that I’ve finally got it, I can thankfully say it is everything I hoped it would be. It’s even better than what I usually get at a coffee shop!
This Smucker’s Blueberry syrup isn’t necessarily a new favorite because I used to buy it a while ago, until my local grocery stores stopped carrying it. I just found it again and the second I saw it on the shelf, I almost squealed! Regular maple syrup is so boring to me. I rarely ever enjoy waffles or pancakes unless I have some kind of fruity syrup to pair it with. This one is so good and makes it feel like I’m at IHOP, but in the comfort of my own home.
One of the changes we had to make this month was switching our phone carriers. We chose Verizon and as reluctant as I was to getting an iPhone, it was the best deal available. I was previously using a Samsung and while I did enjoy it, the apps and emojis weren’t always as good as they are on Apple products.

Although I’m still not excited about having to become an iPhone user, I have been enjoying the ease it brings when trying to use apps like Instagram. I kept my Popsocket from my last phone and just picked up a cheap clear gel case from Walmart until I can get a better one shipped from Amazon. It is a little heavier and bigger of a phone for my small hands, so the Popsocket is an absolute must!
Even though I apply lotion every night before bed, my hands have been so dry lately. That’s not something I’ve ever really dealt with before. Since my regular lotion wasn’t cutting it anymore, I picked up this Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Hand Cream. I’ve never used any Gold Bond products before, but I figured this was a good option since it’s made specifically for dry hands.

It is a much thicker formula than my regular lotion and it does take a while to absorb into the skin. Thankfully, it doesn’t leave behind any greasy residue and it does seem to be doing a pretty good job at healing my skin.
When it comes to concealer brushes, I have a few favorites that I switch between. This one from Boxycharm used to be one of them, but somehow it got pushed to the side and I completely forgot about it. I just recently found it again and I’m so happy I did! It’s the perfect shape and density, so I can blend my concealer in a matter of seconds.
When it comes to eyeshadow, I’ve been going for as simple of a look as I can lately. This Elf Cream & Sugar quad has been my favorite. I’ve been constantly recreating the look that I shared in my tutorial featuring this palette. I love how naturally glam it is with almost zero effort. The formula is so smooth that my already broken shadows did continue to shatter even more. I did reset the darkest shade (using this hack). It’s a little messy, but the formula and pigmentation is as good as new!
My favorite eyeliner to pair with that palette is the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in the shade MatteMulberry. Although it’s called a “pen,” it’s actually just a really smooth pencil. It does have to be sharpened, which I’m not very good at. But the formula is perfect and this particular color is so flattering. It’s a dark brown that has the slightest berry undertone that pairs beautifully with all eye colors.
As I’ve started to make my way through my backup mascara stash, I found this NYX Worth the Hype mascara. I remember hearing a lot of good things about this when it first came out and after trying it for a while now, I definitely agree! It adds enough length and volume to my lashes without needing to be paired with anything else.
One thing that is definitely making that mascara work even better is this Maybelline Lash Sensational Boosting Serum. It’s been a few months since I’ve used a lash serum and since I didn’t see any in the drugstore that I wanted to try, I repurchased my favorite. This is the only lash serum I’ve used that has made a noticeable difference both with and without makeup. It might sound crazy, but I started noticing results within a day or two!

My last favorite product this month is the OPI Nail Envy polish. I’ve heard wonderful things about it, but never gave into the hype because of its high price tag. I knew I was going to be doing a lot of work with my hands recently, so I decided to skip colored nail polish and try this instead. It’s supposed to have a lot of strengthening properties which is exactly what I was looking for. So far, I like it. Though I’ll need to use it longer to notice any of its strengthening effects.
Now for a little life update that might explain why some of these products were my recent favorites:

We moved to Texas, y’all! My husband got an amazing job opportunity in Dallas, so we took it and have been here for about a week and a half. It was incredibly sad to leave Florida, but we are so excited to see what the future holds for us in Texas.

We have a lot to learn about our new location, but so far we have been loving it! We’ve already found so many yummy restaurants, the people are very friendly, and the weather is beautiful. It’s just as hot as Florida, but with less clouds, less humidity, and more wind!

I am so insanely proud of my husband with how hard he’s worked and the advances he is making in his career. Life has been quite a struggle these past few years, but he’s stayed so strong for us and I couldn’t be more thankful for him. We are really excited about this new chapter in our lives and can’t wait for all the new adventures it will bring!
