May Favorites

While the rest of the world seems to be in a very confused place, my life is actually amazing right now and I am the happiest I’ve been in a really long time. If you caught last month’s favorites post, that probably would have come as no surprise to you. We have been so happy with our move to Texas and are adjusting more and more each day. Along with all the new changes going on in my life lately, there have also been a lot of new makeup products and other lifestyle favorites that I’ve really been loving and I can’t wait to share them with you!
Besides being super busy with no time to do my hair, it’s also been incredibly windy which means hats have been almost a daily thing for me lately. Baseball hats are my favorite, specifically ones that have a velcro strap in the back to make it easier to tie my hair back. The two I’ve been wearing the most are this black Adidas hat that I found for around $10 at TJ Maxx and this tan one I got at Walmart for $3. They match with anything and make getting ready so much faster!
It’s finally shorts season again and I am so excited about it! I got both of these denim shorts at Zumiez last year and couldn’t wait to start wearing them again. The brand is Empyre and although the wash and distressing is different, they’re both in the style Jenna. It was almost impossible to find low rise shorts, but these are amazing! I love how stretchy and comfortable they are. They’re pretty much the only bottoms I’ve been wearing all month.
The weather has been absolutely gorgeous lately and I’ve taken advantage of every opportunity I get to soak up some sun! When I come back in from tanning, I hop in the shower to clean up and then apply some sort of after sun lotion. Right now I’m using this one from Banana Boat and although it has a thicker consistency than what I would like, it does its job at keeping my skin moisturized and preserving my tan.
This month I’ve spent a lot of time testing out products from Pixi’s new Hydrating Milky line. I will be posting a full review of this collection after I test these products even more, but I do already have a few favorites. The Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover was the one I was the most skeptical about, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how well it removes my makeup! It actually makes makeup removal fun!

Pixi’s tonics are always impressive and this Milky Tonic is just as good as all the others. It’s very nourishing on the skin, it absorbs quickly, and even has a subtle calming scent from some of its botanical ingredients.
Two other products I’ve been loving from the Pixi Hydrating Milky collection are the lotion and serum. I use the lotion the most because it’s so nourishing, yet it absorbs quickly into the skin and feels very lightweight. The serum is something I’ve been adding in at night when my skin needs a little extra love. The serum topped with the lotion is one of the most luxurious experiences my skin has ever felt!
Crayon concealers have never really been my thing, mainly because I’ve never found one that had a good formula. This one from Trèstique that I got in my recent Boxycharm left me completely speechless the first time I used it. The packaging is precious and I love the strong magnetic closure that it has. But the formula is just absolutely amazing! It covers everything, yet looks so natural and undetectable on the skin. It lasts all day, it doesn’t break down or move at all, and I’ve never had a problem with it settling into any fine lines around my eyes or mouth area. It’s perfect!!
My eyeshadow favorites this month are the Elf Bite-Size eyeshadow quad in Cream & Sugar (still) and the StudioMakeup Ease to Wear palette. The Elf quad is so easy for every day. The look I featured in my tutorial is usually what I do with it, but it can also go in a much simpler or a much more dramatic direction. Same goes for the Ease to Wear palette and since that’s the newest one in my collection, I’ve really been enjoying playing around with the formula and shade selection that it offers.
My last favorite this month is the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in the shade Fresh Papaya. This one has been my favorite for a while, but I really only bring it out during the Spring and Summer months. It’s the perfect mix of pink and peach that looks so naturally fresh on the lips. The formula is smooth and lightweight with the most flattering shiny finish. This particular color is a great one to keep in the purse because it pairs beautifully with so many different looks and can totally be applied without a mirror.
Although I love all of these products, I think my favorite has to be the concealer. That’s one that I look forward to wearing every day and when I do have it on, I just can’t stop staring at my skin. I’ve never had a concealer make my skin look so naturally flawless, it’s like magic!

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them for me in the comments below! Have you tried any of these products before? What are some of your favorites from this past month?
