Iced Mocha

Coffee is one of my favorite things in the entire world. I love having a hot cup to start my day, but my second glass of iced coffee in the afternoon is just as enjoyable. Especially when it’s super hot outside, there’s almost nothing better! I have my favorite coffee shops that I like to visit often for a special treat, but sometimes it’s just easier (and more affordable) to recreate the same thing at home. Lately, my go-to has been an iced mocha with a little twist!
All you need is:

~A cup of coffee

~Chocolate milk

~Chocolate syrup

~Whipped cream

~Ice

My afternoon iced coffees usually involve my cold brew that I always have stocked in my fridge, but this recipe starts with a freshly brewed cup of hot coffee (around 8-10 fl oz). This could also be a great way to use leftover coffee from the morning. When using freshly brewed hot coffee, I like to let it sit for about 30-45 minutes so it doesn’t immediately melt the ice. The stronger and less watered down the coffee, the better!

To the coffee, add in ¼ cup chocolate milk and about 2 tbsp chocolate syrup. Stir to combine. This is why using fresh coffee is important. If the coffee is already cold from the fridge, the chocolate syrup won’t mix in very well. The chocolate milk is the special little twist that enhances the syrup and makes it even more decadent.
To make it extra fancy, fill a separate cup with ice and drizzle some chocolate syrup on the sides of the glass. Then pour in the coffee mixture and top it with whipped cream and more chocolate syrup. It’s delicious to enjoy immediately, but it’s even better once the ice starts to cool the coffee and the whip cream melts down!
This tastes just as good as what I would get from a coffee shop and I can only imagine how much money it’s saving! The Torani brand also makes a delicious White Chocolate sauce that could be used in place of the Dark Chocolate. I have done that before and it is just as yummy!
