Pixi Hydrating Milky Collection Review

Skincare can be a very difficult thing to navigate. There are so many products on the market and they all claim to be the best. A lot of them have claims that don’t even accurately describe the product’s purpose. Thankfully, Pixi Beauty has never been one of those brands. I’ve tried so many of their skincare products and have very rarely ever been disappointed. Even though hydration isn’t my first choice in caring for my extremely oily skin, I was still very interested to try their new Hydrating Milky Collection.
Let’s review these in the order that they would typically be applied to the skin. First is the Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover. This product comes with 5.07 fl oz and is listed for $24. It is meant to remove long-wearing eye, lip, and face makeup while adding moisture to the skin with its Coconut Extracts and Probiotics. It has a pump style release of the product and it does need to be shaken before use.

Makeup removers aren’t usually part of my routine. They aren’t something I’ve ever really been impressed with, so I wasn’t expecting too much from this one either. Surprisingly, I do think it works very well! It removed all of my makeup without any fuss.

My only two complaints are that the pump release pulls on cotton balls and that I have to use more than one cotton ball to get my entire face. I still wash my face with my usual cleanser afterwards, but removing the makeup with this product first makes that process much easier.
The Hydrating Milky Cleanser is one of only two products that I didn’t like from this collection. It includes 4.57 fl oz and is listed for $18. This product is supposed to provide a gentle cleansing that will leave the skin calmed and moisturized with its Coconut Extracts, Probiotics, and Jojoba Esters. It’s a very rich, creamy cleanser so a little bit goes a long way.

Although cream cleansers aren’t usually my favorite, the consistency of this product seemed fine. What I didn’t like about it was how it left my skin after I rinsed it off. It left a somewhat heavy feeling, squeaky, film-like residue over my skin that I found to be uncomfortable. It felt like I needed to double cleanse with a different product because my skin wasn’t completely clean from the first wash.
After cleansing and drying the skin, the Milky Tonic is the next step. This is their smaller bottle that includes 3.4 fl oz and retails for $15. They also offer it in a larger bottle, which includes 8.5 fl oz for $29. The purpose of this tonic is to calm, soothe, and balance the skin’s complexion with its Jojoba Milk, Oat Extract, and Green Tea ingredients.

Pixi’s tonics are usually my favorite part of their skincare collections and that is definitely true for this product. My skincare routine doesn’t feel complete without applying a toner and I found this one to be incredibly nourishing. I love how quickly it absorbed into the skin without leaving behind any heavy feeling residue. This is one that I reach for when my skin needs a little extra nourishment.
In this collection, they also included a serum which is to be applied after toning. This Hydrating Milky Serum is listed for $24 and comes with 1.01 fl oz of product. It is packaged in a glass bottle with a glass dropper on the inside, making it feel very luxurious and high-end. This serum is meant to provide a revitalizing boost for the skin that will intensely hydrate while also protecting and improving skin’s elasticity with its Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil, and Rose Flower Extract.

This can be applied both morning and night, but because my skin is already incredibly oily I like to only apply it at night. Morning applications made my skin uncontrollably oily, which made it practically impossible to wear any makeup. While this serum does absorb rather quickly, it does leave a tacky feeling on the skin that must be topped with a moisturizer. The combination of this serum and a lotion is one of the most nourishing experiences my skin has ever felt.
One of the most common skincare products compared to everything else is moisturizer. There are so many on the market that it makes my head spin trying to figure out which one to choose. Thankfully, this Hydrating Milky Lotion will make that decision very easy for me from now on. This product comes with 4.57 fl oz and is listed for $24. Some of its key ingredients include Coconut Oil, Cocoa Seed Extract, and Shea Butter that work together to instantly moisturize the skin.

This product can be used on both the face and body, but I’ve only ever used it on my face. A little bit of this goes a long way! It’s incredibly moisturizing and absorbs into the skin quickly without leaving any greasy, heavy feeling residue. Along with most of the products in this collection, it has a very faint refreshing coconut and oat scent.
The last product that I have from this collection is the Hydrating Milky Peel. I love their original Peel & Polish, so I was really expecting a lot from this product. It comes with 2.71 fl oz and is listed for $24. The purpose of this product is to gently exfoliate the skin and moisturize it at the same time. Some of its key ingredients include Coconut Extract and Probiotics, as well as Arginine and Natural Cellulose.

Unfortunately, this is the second product from the collection that I wasn’t very impressed with. While it is incredibly gentle, I didn’t feel like it did much of anything to exfoliate my skin. The scrubby particles are very sparse and very fine, making them almost completely unnoticeable. I much prefer the more intense exfoliation and delicious, refreshing scent from their Peel & Polish instead.
Although the cleanser and peel weren’t my favorite, I am pretty impressed with the majority of products in this new Hydrating Milky Collection. The lotion is definitely my favorite and I can already see the serum being very useful come Winter time. Overall, I’d consider it another great collection in the Pixi Skintreats line!
