Elf Cosmetics HD Concealer Review

A couple of months ago I posted an Elf Cosmetics Haul of a bunch of things I purchased from their website when they were having a huge 50% off sale. That was right before Black Friday and I have been putting those products to the test every chance I get and am finally ready to start posting some reviews of them all. The first two things I wanted to mention, and what this whole post is about, are the Elf HD Lifting Concealers.

I have one in the Adjusting (green) shade and one in the Brightening (yellow) shade. You can purchase these on Elf’s website or in some drugstores for $3 and it comes with .22 oz in the packaging. Although Elf is super affordable to begin with, I still like waiting for the 50% off sales since they host those pretty frequently throughout the year and then I won’t feel guilty about adding so many extra items! ;)

Elf does offer free shipping for orders over $35 and if you’re a registered member on their site, you’ll get updated emails about free gifts with purchase and other discounts. The processing and shipping time was impressive, especially when the order was placed during such a big sale and none of the items were damaged when I opened the box.

Now as far as the quality of the actual product, I’m really liking it. I didn’t pick up one of the normal skin tone shades since I love my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer so much. And since I got different colors for specific problems, I don’t use them daily and usually just reach for them when I’m doing complete full-coverage makeup. I apply correcting concealers right after primer and before any foundation, BB cream, or other concealer. I use the yellow Brightening shade for my purple-toned under-eye circles and veins on my eyelids. The green Adjusting shade gets placed on the red areas, such as around my nose, chin, or pimples.

When you begin to blend it into the skin, you’ll still notice a green tint but that disappears as soon as you add foundation or skin tone concealer over it. This really helps if you need discoloration hidden for hours or if you’re using a lighter coverage foundation because it’s giving another layer of product that cancels out the issue. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all and is very easy to blend in. I haven’t had a problem with it sticking to dry patches or creasing in any fine lines around the mouth, eyes, or forehead. I will mention, though, that the description on their website says it firms and regenerates the skin and I didn’t notice any of that when I was wearing it. Be careful with crazy claims companies add to products, it’s usually just for advertising.

I’m really impressed with the packaging, it definitely does not feel like a $3 product! It has a standard doe-foot applicator and while the tube is a little thicker than most other concealers, it’s shorter in length and can be convenient for travelling. Elf has definitely improved the quality of their products recently and I am loving it! They also just released a few new products that have caught my attention and you better believe I already have a list! ;)

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these concealers if you’ve tried them before and what you think of Elf products. Hope you have a beautiful day!
