Black Friday and Cyber Monday Haul Update

Last week I posted an Elf Haul Update of things I had gotten back in November to share with you my thoughts on how all of the products worked for me. Around the same time I posted the original Elf Haul, I also shared with you some of the things that I had picked up during my Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping. When I share hauls of new products, I have every intention of posting a follow up review. It takes me a little while before getting around to it because I want to make sure that I try everything thoroughly so I can provide the best review possible. Now that I’ve had these products for a few months, I am ready to give my review and opinions of each item. Some products I have already posted a review about and I will link to those accordingly.

~Liz Claiborne pajama set~ I don’t think I’ve ever had a pair of pajamas that have been so comfortable as this set is. They are a microfleece material that keeps me very warm, but without being too thick and making me feel like I have a bunch of layers on. I still saw them listed on the JCPenney website and definitely recommend picking it up.

~Lorac Love, Lust, & Lace Matte Eyeshadow Palette~ I love this palette so much! It has definitely been my go-to palette when I don’t want options and just need to get ready fast. It has all the basics in it and is amazing quality. You can find the full, more detailed review I wrote here.
~bareMinerals Regal & Radiant Set~ I’m still not the biggest fan of bareMinerals loose powder products just because they’re so messy to work with and harder to build up and blend out, but I wasn’t completely disappointed with this set either. The shimmer in the bronzer was noticeable, but didn’t make me look like a disco ball. It did take me longer to apply it than a pressed powder, so I didn’t reach for it very often. I didn’t see talc on the ingredients list for either of these two items, but I did get a few breakouts from them which was disappointing since bareMinerals is supposed to be better for your skin.
~Benefit Gift Set~
Dandelion Blush: It has a soft texture, but I wasn’t very impressed with the pigmentation it gave. The color was nice after I built it up. However I wouldn’t say I recommend it just because of the extra effort it takes to notice any color.

Dandelion Ultra Plush Lip Gloss: The smell was something that I was able to work around, but it looked more like a clear gloss on the lips so I didn’t get much use out of it. I also would’ve liked it to have less shimmer.

Benetint Lip & Cheek Stain: The applicator was on the small side, so it was difficult to use it on the cheeks and I didn’t really prefer that method. I did like the way it looked on the lips and that it dried to a stain. The rosy color it gave to the lips was beautiful.

BADgal Lash Mascara: I’ve mentioned in recent posts that I’m working my way through quite a few other mascaras currently, so I didn’t get around to using this product. I will update you when I do use it though :)

POREfessional Primer: It does the job and I really appreciate that it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It has a slight perfume scent to it which isn’t my favorite, but it’s not overwhelming and I was able to work past that. It did smooth my pores and increase the wear time of my makeup, so this is one that I would recommend.

Girl Meets Pearl Highlighter: As a little disclaimer, I’m not the biggest fan of liquid highlighters to begin with but figured I’d try this anyway since it was included in the set. The texture of this was in between a liquid and a cream. The color is beautiful and it gives a gentle glow, but I just don’t reach for it very often since I prefer pressed powder highlighters instead. I would recommend for those of you who like highlighters in this form and don’t want something too intense.
~BH Cosmetics Sculpt & Blend 2 Brush Set~ I posted a separate review of this brush set and my overall opinion of it was positive. I think the brushes are good quality and they are at an affordable price. I would recommend just because of the unique brushes it includes.

~BH Cosmetics Eye Essential Brush Set~ This is another product that I posted a separate review on and liked it as well. I definitely think this set is worth it and have even included more than half of these brushes in my daily routine.

~BH Cosmetics Essential Eyes Eyeshadow Palette~ Again, another product that required a separate review with many details and complete swatches. I do like this palette, however, a lot of the shadows are hit or miss on the quality and I would have preferred some of them to be matte. This is fine for the price, but I also think there are better options available.

This haul was all over the place as far as how satisfied I was with the products that I purchased. But that’s why I do this, because not everything is what it claims to be and I want to share my experiences in hopes of helping others. If you’ve tried any of these products, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Also, please don’t hesitate to ask any questions! Have a beautiful, relaxing weekend! :)
