L'oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara Review
If I could choose just one makeup item to always have no matter what, I think I would definitely choose mascara. Even when I don’t do much to get ready, mascara can make the biggest difference. I’ve tried so many mascaras trying to find my absolute favorite that it makes my head spin trying to remember them all. However, the first time I used this L’oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions mascara I knew the hunt was over. For lengthening mascara, that is.
When I do my mascara, the goal I always aim for is to make my natural lashes look as thick and as long as possible without wearing falsies. I was always a sucker for those products that claimed to volumize and lengthen your lashes and was always disappointed. I found that those mascaras always only did one or the other, but never both. So I gave up and now use two mascaras daily, one for volumizing and one for lengthening. I found some okay volumizing ones, but am still looking for my favorite. Thankfully, L’oreal came through for me again and made the best lengthening mascara out there.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find this mascara in stores for quite a while now. I’ve checked everywhere and only see the original Telescopic mascara (which is not the same at all). I finally couldn’t stand it anymore and ordered this one on Amazon. It’s around $8 for .29 oz of product and I always get mine in the shade Carbon Black. Carbon Black from L’oreal (in all of their products) is the darkest black shade I have ever found and I love it!
The difference between the original Telescopic and the Shocking Extensions version is the wand. The product inside the tube is very similar, but the wand on the Shocking Extensions is much more sturdy, making it easier to work with and produces a better result. Before repurchasing it online, I cleaned the wand from my previous tube with coconut oil (another use to add to my list) and continued to use it with the original Telescopic mascara.
The picture above is a step by step progression of applying the mascara. The top left is my complete bare lashes (you can barely even tell they’re there). The top right is after curling them with a heated eyelash curler (I just heated up a traditional curler with my blow dryer). The bottom left picture is after the first layer of mascara and the bottom right picture is the final result after two coats.
I love this mascara so much! I’ve been using it consistently for around three years now and I still can’t get enough of it. The results impress me so much every single time I use it. I love how perfect the formula is and that it never clumps. I’ve never had any issues with it flaking off, just barely wearing down throughout the day. The wand is really what’s so amazing about it and separates every single lash to make them look as good as possible. I highly suggest trying this mascara, even if it means ordering it online like I did! Let me know what your thoughts are if you’ve tried it and I hope you have a beautiful weekend! :)
