Beauty Product Fails #2

Last month was my first month posting a product fails type of blog. It’s not something I usually do and putting out negative reviews of products on the internet isn’t always the easiest thing to do, but the post went over really well and I honestly think negative reviews are just as important and useful as positive ones. I have an entire drawer full of products that didn’t work for me, so I picked out five more to share with you in hopes of saving you some cash!

This is one of those products that totally got me with the packaging. I’m a sucker for anything cheetah! Especially with the gold writing, ughhh! I don’t hear Elizabeth Arden products being talked about too much, and if the quality in their line is consistent with this Beautiful Color Radiance Blush then I understand why. The shade I have is Romantic Rose and it looks beautiful in the pan. There’s a huge mirror inside, but the pigmentation is nowhere to be found. I mean, look at the swatch picture below. Can you even see where it is on my hand? Trying to make this work is just pointless.

I bought this next product when I was just getting into makeup and experimenting with different things. Looking at it in the packaging now, I would know better with the colors but back then I wanted to try everything I could get my hands on. This blush and bronzer duo from Claire’s is nice when considering the texture and pigmentation. The formula is super smooth and you barely have to touch the product to get a ton of color. The issue is with the shades. Not only do they not match together very well, but the bronzer is too orange and the blush is too bright that it’d be hard for almost anyone to pull it off.

This Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics All Over Glow Luminizer Gel is super cute. They’ve got the name and the packaging down, there’s no doubt about that. I even think the color of the actual product is very beautiful. But the smell! At first it smells sweet like sugar, but the more it lingers the more I start to get a headache. I’d like to see this shade in a highlight or an eyeshadow, but in this gel form I found that it took too long to dry and didn’t show up like I hoped.

I remember getting this Doucce Punk Volumizer mascara in my Boxycharm and wondering how in the world I was going to apply it because the wand is so insanely huge. If you’ve ever tried some of the Covergirl mascaras that have the huge wands, this is almost twice the size of that. I know how to apply mascara, lashes are my favorite! But I was legitimately scared putting this thing so close to my eyeball. Not to mention that the formula was super clumpy, as you can see in the two pictures below.

The last product I’ll share for now is the Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Napa Valley. I’ve been pretty vocal about not loving this liquid lipstick formula or its smell in the past and that’s still true, I think it’s very drying and uncomfortable. I can look past that for the shade Pasadena, but when would I ever voluntarily put this dark purple on my lips?! Nah uh. It is a pretty purple shade, just not for my lips.

I know makeup is just makeup and everyone has their own opinion about different products, and that different products work for different people because we all have our own preferences and skin types. Unfortunately, these products didn’t do it for me and just collect dust in the back of my drawer. If you’ve been thinking about any of these products, I’d probably suggest reconsidering before making a purchase. And if you do like any of these that I mentioned, I’m so happy for you! If you have any questions, please leave them for me in the comments below. I hope you found this helpful and have a beautiful day! ♥
