DIY Repurposing Candle Jars
I had about three or four old candle jars in my freezer for months before finally throwing them away. Does anyone else do that? I had candles, thought I could repurpose the jar and threw them in the freezer. After months past, I realized I wasn’t ever going to do anything with them and in the trash they went. They just weren’t the right size, or the right shape, and they didn’t have a lid. Basically, they were pointless. But Bath & Body Works candles - those are expensive! And they have a lid, so I’m getting every last penny’s worth out of these jars. I did the same thing with these, but this time I was determined to find a way to use them again.
This was a candle from Christmas time, so I think the lid is technically supposed to look like a snowflake but we’ll pretend it’s just some cute design since we’re almost in Summer now. Scraping the excess candle wax out of the jar actually wasn’t as difficult as I thought it was gonna be. But you should see how much candle wax you don’t get to use in these things, I was shocked!
You can use whatever color spray paint you would like for this. I already had this Krylon Metallic Copper laying around, so that’s what I decided to go with. When is rose gold ever a bad choice?? After cleaning the jar, I took it outside and sprayed two coats only on the outside of the jar. Make sure to let it dry in between coats and try not to let it get drippy like I did. I’m so bad about that!
I’m so happy with the way this turned out. Now the hard part is deciding how I’m going to use it. Something like this can go almost anywhere in the house and be used for so many different things. Right now, it does still smell like the candle a little bit so I’m not sure if a candy jar is the best purpose for it at the moment. It could be used for makeup brushes, cotton balls, pens, desk accessories such as paper clips, whatever you can think of.
If you do something similar at home, please tag me on social media. I’d love to see what you come up with! Also, leave me a comment letting me know what other suggestions you have for repurposing old candle jars. There’s so many options!

Inspired by all the beautiful pastel Easter colors yesterday (and my freshly dark self tanned hands), I was dying for a bright mint green. The color I’m wearing is Ulta’s nail polish called Out On A Lime. I love this formula and although pastel shades like this can be pretty difficult to formulate for many companies, the quality on this is really nice. You will need a full two coats, but it’s not streaky and I know the formula will last all week.
What’s on your nails this week?
