April Favorites

April wasn’t actually a very big month. I stayed extremely busy, as always, but I don’t feel like it was as hectic as previous months. Both me and my fiancé got extremely sick, thanks to those wonderful allergies. Thankfully, we’re all better now. There have been a few changes in our life, for the better, and we’re having a lot of fun. We’ve finally been able to start working on our landscaping and I cannot wait for that to be finished! Spring weather is officially here and aside from allergies, it puts me in such a happy mood. I get all my favorites back: pastels, bright colors, warm weather, spring clothes. I love it all!

I actually don’t have too many favorites this month, but that’s okay. I’ve been really enjoying just a few specific things. The first being the Ole Henriksen Oil Control line. I recently wrote an entire blog dedicated to these products and how they have worked for me. In case you missed that last week, you can find even more details here. This was my first experience with this brand and I was really impressed. The products helped control my oil like they claimed to do and they left my skin feeling nice and refreshed with their tingling sensation.

First of all, let me apologize for this next picture. I don’t like feet, so this was super weird for me but I just had to share. I have officially jumped into the Crocs world, which is something I never thought I would say! I know these are totally not the cutest shoes in the world, but let me explain...they won’t be leaving the house.

I always have super cold feet and constantly wear soft, fluffy socks around the house. If there’s a time when I need to go outside quickly, such as to chase after my crazy pup, I don’t have time to maneuver my socks around flip flops. These are perfect to slip right on without thinking. After having them for a while, they’re also nice to just wear around the house anyway when I’m doing housework because the rubber on the heel is soft when you step. Pretty impressed for always having stuck my nose up at Crocs previously.

It was finally time to throw my nail file away. I loved the Trim 7 Way nail file that I included in my at-home mani routine post, but the paper was finally tearing off of it and it needed to be replaced. I didn’t want to buy the same thing for that reason (and because I can’t not try new beauty products), so I got this Tropical Shine 4 Way nail file at Sally’s instead. I actually think I like this one better! It’s more sturdy and the grit seems more high quality.

As mentioned in Monday’s Boxycharm Unboxing, I have been loving this Crown Brush SS023 Jumbo Kabuki Fan brush. I’m sure it would be great for many different areas around the face, but I’ve been loving the way it applies bronzer. The shape is perfect for getting the sides of the forehead and in the hollows of the cheeks. It’s a little big to be able to use on my nose because I do have a somewhat small face, but I can make it work. The bristles are super soft and I haven’t had any issues with shedding.

This isn’t a new favorite product, I’ve loved the Elf High Definition Powder for years. It’s what I always use as my finishing powder to set the face, blur my pores, and control my oil. It’s always worked wonderfully for me and I will probably always repurchase and recommend it. What I’m so excited about right now, though, is that they changed the packaging. It looks so much more sleek in this round container and I’m in love with the fact that they put something in there to control how much powder comes out. I don’t know why it took a company so long to do this, it’s genius!

I featured this Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Chrome in both my recent tutorial and Ulta Haul. I’ve never been a fan of the original Maybelline Color Tattoos, which I was very vocal about in my review I posted about them. But this Eye Chrome is completely different! I love the whipped formula on it and this actually keeps my eyeshadow in place a lot longer than most other products. For having such incredibly oily eyelids, that’s saying a lot. I definitely want to go back and get more colors.

I have three lip products to share that have been in constant rotation lately and they’re all very similar in color. The first is Revlon’s Lip Butter in the shade Juicy Papaya. I own four different colors from the Revlon Lip Butter line and I love them all. The formula is so smooth!

The other two products are both by the brand Real Her Cosmetics. Their Moisturizing Lipstick in the shade Sorry, Not Sorry is so comfortable to wear and the perfect light pink as we transition into Spring and Summer. Their Expert Advice Lip Liner in the shade I Am Unstoppable is the softest lip liner I have ever felt, which means that it goes on effortlessly. I’ve been using this both as a lip liner and as it’s own lip color. It’s beautiful and so versatile!

It’s crazy to think that we’re already making our way into May and I know as soon as Summer hits, it’s gonna fly by before we even know it. I’m so ready for it, though! We just got the pool clean and I’m ready for all the fun outdoor activities. Hopefully we don’t get hit with anymore bad allergies like we went through this month, though. That was tough!

If you have any other questions about any of the products I mentioned, please leave them for me in the comments below. Also, let me know what products you’ve used the most this month. Can you believe May is only three days away?
