This or That Tag: Halloween Edition

It’s that time of year again. Scaredy cats like me can’t even walk through stores anymore without jumping at every little thing. I know that sounds a little exaggerated, but it’s happened multiple times. Don’t judge! Last month, I participated in the Fall tag and since Halloween is the biggest thing this month (besides football), I thought it’d be fun to try the This or That Tag: Halloween edition. I’m not very good at making decisions, so we’ll see how this goes!

1.) Chocolate or fruity candy?
Chocolate! Couldn’t you tell by my bio on all of my social media? It’s one of my favorite things!

2.) Witches or vampires?
Uhhh, vampires? I don’t need any spells cast around here.

3.) Trick or treat?
Treat! All the treats! My two favorite Halloween candies are the Caramel Apple Pops and the peanut butter Mary Jane candies. Yummm!
4.) Halloween party or scary movie?
I don’t like anything scary, so I’ll go with party because that seems a little more safe. Although I do hate those popular creepy black and white ghost mask costumes everyone wears!

5.) Skeletons or zombies?
Skeletons because zombies are technically still alive, right?! I’m not scared of The Walking Dead, but if zombies were actually real I don’t know what I’d do.

6.) Hand out candy or trick-or-treat?
Hand out candy. Trick-or-treating was fun when I was a kid, but that was a lot of walking and I remember my basket getting really heavy to carry at the end. And some people can be very rude and untrustworthy, so I’d rather just buy my own candy that I know is safe and eat it in the comfort of my own home. Or driveway, which is where we sit to greet the little kiddies.

7.) Hay ride or corn maze?
Hay rides are more relaxing, but corn mazes are super fun -- as long as they’re not like a nighttime haunted corn maze or anything. I’m not very good at figuring my way out (I kinda cheat a little bit), but we like to go and have fun trying our best anyway. Thankfully, the farm we go to has both a corn maze and a hay ride, so I don’t have to choose :)
8.) Scary or funny costume?
Funny! I feel like that is probably obvious at this point. I just love anything funny that will make me laugh anyway, but especially during Halloween when I’m all tense and scared of everything!

9.) Pumpkin seeds or pumpkin pie?
Pumpkin pie. I’ve tried pumpkin seeds a few times and they’re okay, definitely not my first choice. But pumpkin pie? Mmmmm!

10.) Bats or black cats?
Black cats. I’m not really superstitious when it comes to things like black cats and walking under ladders and blah blah blah. That stuff doesn’t affect me, but bats are creepy!

11.) Pumpkin spice or hot chocolate?
This one’s a little difficult to decide, but I think I’d prefer hot chocolate. There’s so many different flavors of hot chocolate that it won’t ever get boring. I’ve gotten really bored with pumpkin spice lately. I drank it all the time when I first discovered it and now I’m still burnt out on it. I’ll probably have one and be satisfied until next year.
12.) Celebrate in your neighborhood or in the mall?
Neighborhood. That’s what I always did as a kid and didn’t even know they had celebrations at the mall until I was out of that trick-or-treating age. I feel like it’s not as genuine and original celebrating indoors. That just seems weird to me.

13.) Which is scarier: werewolves or vampires?
This is how much I stay away from anything scary: I literally just Googled what a werewolf is! I’m gonna say a vampire is scarier because they can hide their teeth better than a werewolf can hide it’s transformation...Does that even make sense? Can you tell I’m a horror newbie??

14.) Which is scarier: ghosts or zombies?
OMG, this has to be the hardest question of them all!! I hate both of those! Ghosts freak me out on a daily basis, regardless of whether it’s Halloween or not. It’s like I don’t want to say they’re real because that would be confirming my fears, but I don’t want to say they’re not real either because what if that comes back to haunt me?? Pun intended.

And then on the other hand, thinking about zombies actually being real just totally freaks me out. That’s like one of the worst things that could ever happen and I don’t want to think about it because that causes way too much stress and anxiety. See my dilemma here?!

15.) Which is scarier: creepy dolls or creepy clowns?
Dolls are definitely more creepy than clowns. I see clowns as just a person with makeup who is pretending to act a certain way. But dolls! Those things aren’t supposed to move or talk or anything like that. Nooo, thank you!
Whew! I’m so glad those questions are over. It was fine in the beginning, but I had no idea I’d get as freaked out as I did trying to think about which of those things is scarier. I’m telling you, I can’t handle all this creepy stuff. Even with all the gory makeup I see on Instagram, I know it’s fake but it still puts me on edge. Can we just skip all the scary stuff and move into Thanksgiving, please?! That’d be great!
