Pixi Glow Tonic vs Rose Tonic

When Pixi first released their Glow Tonic, it became one of the most loved and talked about products of all the skincare world. It sounded so confusing at first and I didn’t really understand what exactly it was supposed to do, but once I finally tried it I fell in love just like everyone else. Since then, they’ve released their Rose Tonic and I was so curious to find out the difference between the two!

I do already have a separate review of the Glow Tonic. This will just be a quick rundown of what it is, focusing on some key points of the similarities and differences between these two toners. If you’d like more in depth information of the Glow Tonic, you can read the full review here.

The Glow Tonic is a gentle exfoliating toner that will clean the pores while removing excess oil and impurities. Some of its key ingredients include 5% glycolic acid which works to exfoliate and purify, aloe vera which soothes and hydrates the skin. Red ginseng will improve circulation while also protecting and energizing the skin, and fructose and sucrose will brighten leaving you with a healthy, balanced, radiant complexion that is prepped and ready for makeup.
The Rose Tonic is a more soothing toner that will remove impurities, balance pH, minimize redness, and calm the skin. It has a rose hydrosol base, which means it will hydrate and neutralize the skin, normalizing the hydration levels. Some of its key ingredients include rose flower extract which is responsible for calming and minimizing redness, elderflower will soften, tone, and brighten, and chamomile will soothe leaving you feeling rehydrated, replenished, and refreshed.
Both of these toners can be used in the morning and at night. They are both alcohol free and suited for all skin types, although the Glow Tonic does have more benefits for acne prone skin. Pixi has released multiple sizes of both toners and the ones shown in the pictures are 3.4 fl oz, which retail for $15. They can be found at Target or on the Pixi website.
I have very oily, acne prone skin and have enjoyed both of these toners. They both feel very luxurious on the skin and haven’t caused me any issues. I tend to use the glow tonic more for its glycolic acid and the benefits it can provide for my skin’s texture, but I’ll reach for the rose tonic sometimes just to switch it up or to enjoy the beautiful rose scent. I’d highly recommend them both, depending on your preferences.
