September Favorites
Aside from football season starting back up, September is always kind of a boring month for me. But now that we’re moving into October, things are about to pick up. Between my anniversary, birthdays, and holidays, my schedule starts to fill up pretty quickly during Fall. It’s a good thing I found a few really great no-fuss, high-quality, affordable products this month that I know I’ll be able to count on as time gets limited.
I found these two Woodwick candles for a great deal earlier in the Summer, but I thought they were more Fall scents so I’ve been holding onto them. Now that it’s officially Fall and I’ve used up all my Summer candles, I started burning these and they smell so good!

The green is Apple Grove and the orange is Caramel Crunch. The Apple Grove actually has a little bit of a spice to it, which was a little unexpected but totally appropriate for the season. The Caramel Crunch smells so delicious like a yummy caramel maple treat. They both have very strong scents and are great for large, open areas in the home.
Hair clips have never really been my thing. I’ve always just thrown my hair in a bun with a hair tie. I recently saw Emily (EmilyNoel on Youtube) talking about how easy hair clips are and I randomly decided to pick one up during a Walmart trip. There was a little bit of an adjustment period to learn the quickest and most effective way to get all my hair in the clip. Now that I've gotten it figured out, it takes me just a few seconds. Sometimes my hair can slip out of a bun, but I don’t have that problem with this clip. It has a grip texture on the inside so I can do whatever I need to without worrying about having to readjust my hair.
Speaking of hair, I’ve also been getting better at using some sort of leave-in conditioner every night. I use these on damp, towel-dried hair after the shower and they’ve really been making a difference. I switch between the It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin and the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Strength + Moisture Leave-In Mask. Although neither of these is making my hair shine like I want, they do leave it feeling extremely soft!
This might come as a surprise, but I’ve actually never used a brow pomade before. I know, can you believe it?! I’ve always been satisfied with pencils and never looked for anything else. This new Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Pomade has been getting a lot of attention in the beauty community lately and I just had to see what all the fuss was about. For never using a pomade before, there was a little bit of a learning curve, but now I’m obsessed. I have the shade Ash Brown and always love the way my brows look when I use this. I do have a full review coming next week, so stay tuned for that!
Also Maybelline, I’ve been using their Color Tattoo Eye Chromes again. I was obsessed with these for the longest time, but they kinda got pushed to the back of the drawer after a while. My two favorite shades are Gilded Rose and Beige Luster. They really are some of the best at extending the wear of eyeshadow. I’ve even used these so much, they’re both almost empty and will need to be repurchased soon!
The two palettes I’ve been enjoying the most this month are the Wet n Wild Rose in the Air palette and the Violet Voss Essentials palette that I got in my Boxycharm. Wet n Wild has one of the best eyeshadow formulas and I’ve recently realized how gorgeous the purples are in this palette, as shown in my latest tutorial.
I’ve never tried Violet Voss eyeshadows before, but the shades in this palette are extremely pigmented and easy to work with. The formula is so smooth, they practically blend themselves! I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with these shades and combining the cool and warm tones in one look. Stay tuned for a full review and a tutorial with this palette coming later in the month!
My last favorite that I have to share is this Emma Beauty L.A. Manicure Collection. I will be posting a full review of this set with swatches of every shade, but the two I’ve tried so far are Love the View in Malibu and Beach, Sand, & Tanned. I’ve had some patchy issues with some of their lighter shades in the past, but these are perfectly opaque and not streaky at all. I’ve been all about the nude nail polishes lately, so this set is a must!
This was one of my more simple favorites posts compared to normal, but sometimes keeping things simple is actually more enjoyable. I can’t believe how happy I am with the brow pomade and how beautifully opaque these nude nail polishes are. I could seriously stare at that set all day, the soft tones are so pleasing!
If you have any questions about anything I mentioned, please feel free to leave them for me in the comments below! Have you tried any of these products before? What are some of your September favorites?
