Top 5 Fall Lips

Now that it’s about halfway through October already, I think it’s finally time that I start switching up my nail polish and lipstick colors to really bring in the Fall season. Last year, I shared my top five Fall nails and I can’t wait to start incorporating those into the rotation! When it comes to the lips, I tend to go in a similar direction and wear something a little darker like a nice deep berry or red.

It wasn’t until last month that I finally tried the Maybelline SuperStay Ink Crayons. I loved the first color so much that I went back and bought a second one. Stay Exceptional is a really beautiful shade, but it’s a little too pink for what typically comes to mind when I think of Fall. Trust Your Gut is much lighter than what I was expecting, though its dusty rose tones pair perfectly with a coppery Fall eyeshadow look. While these crayons do have a matte finish, they are still incredibly comfortable on the lips and are completely transfer proof!

Clinique’s lipsticks don’t get very much attention in the beauty community, but their Pop Lip Colour + Primer collection is actually really good! They’re super smooth and lightweight which makes them incredibly comfortable, and they’re full of color! Love Pop is the one I specifically love for this time of year. It’s a lighter berry shade with a little bit of shimmer. This is one that I love carrying in my purse because the formula is so easy to apply.

When I’m feeling a little more dramatic, the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Cruella is always a favorite. Sometimes red lipstick can be intimidating to apply, but this pencil format makes it much easier to draw inside the lines. This shade of red is the most flattering one I’ve found because it’s a true red without any pink, orange, or blue undertones. It is beautiful on its own with the matte finish, but I also like to apply a clear gloss for a luscious shine.

Speaking of shine, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine in the shade Velvet Wine has been a long-time favorite of mine for both Fall and Winter. It’s made with Hyaluronic Acid and has a slightly thicker consistency to really keep the lips hydrated and nourished in the cooler dry air. The suction on this tube is very tight, so it might take a little longer to get the product fully applied but the result is totally worth it.

Another matte lip product that I love for Fall, mainly because of its color is the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip in the shade Berry Beauty. This formula is incredibly comfortable and one that I wear all year round in many different colors. The Berry Beauty shade is a newer addition to this line and one of my favorites! It’s such a bold statement color that is incredibly flattering!

All of these lippies are amazing and stay in constant rotation this time of year, but the Pixi Liquid Lip is probably my most worn so far. Once it dries, there’s almost zero transfer and I absolutely love the way it looks with a clear gloss on top! The Maybelline Crayon and the Clinique lipstick are the two easiest to apply, so I’m predicting those will have a permanent home in my purse for the next few months.
