February Favorites

It may be the shortest month of the year, but this February definitely packed a punch! The weather and temperatures were all over the place, my makeup was kept to an unbelievable minimum, and I’ve discovered a few lifestyle products that I don’t think I can ever live without. These favorites are kinda random and definitely record breaking!

The most wild part of February is definitely all of the snow we got in Texas! I’ve lived in the South my entire life and never thought I’d see so much snow, or experience such cold temperatures as we did last week. I basically go into hibernation for anything lower than 70 degrees, so needless to say I was not having very much fun when the wind chill hit below zero.

We measured about six inches of snow in our yard and got another three to four inches two days later! It was absolutely beautiful to look at and play around with, but pretty yucky once it started melting. Besides the freezing temperatures, the snow was kinda fun while it lasted. However, I am definitely okay with that being a once in a lifetime event and am more than ready to see 100+ degree Summer days again.

Since I’ve spent most of my life living in the Florida Panhandle, I’m used to uncomfortable amounts of humidity all year long. While my skin loved the dry heat in Dallas during the Summer, it’s not doing so well during Winter. Although I apply all the creams and balms, everything is cracking! It started affecting my nose really bad and after realizing our Vicks Vaporizer was defective, we ordered a new humidifier on Amazon.

I love this thing! It might not take care of the problem completely, but it has definitely made a big difference. We use filtered water and plug it in next to the bed every night. It starts flowing a cool mist into the air the second it’s turned on. I love that there’s no wait time! It stays on all throughout the night and the cool mist prevents any uncomfortable tackiness in the air.

A new toy I’ve been adding into my Pilates routine this month are sliders. While I love traditional Pilates and just using body weight to tone up the muscles, it’s so much fun adding in props to play with. I’m still trying to figure out my favorite way to use them, but I have done a few routines that were a lot of fun and left me very sore!

This next favorite was definitely a purchase influenced by Brittany Vasseur. She recently mentioned how relaxing it is to use one of these head massagers and she is totally right! I’ve seen them before and I’m sure I’ve even had one in the past, but it’s been years. I found this one at Walmart for only $3 and I’m obsessed! I get chills every time I use it and if my arm wouldn’t get tired, I could play with this thing for hours.

When I picked up the Laneige gift set at Sephora for my birthday, I was most excited about the lip mask. Little did I know how impressive these other two moisturizing products are! The Water Bank Moisture Cream might be the most luxurious lotion I’ve ever applied to my face. It’s insanely nourishing, yet it feels incredibly lightweight and absorbs almost instantly.

The Water Sleeping Mask is just as luxurious and I always apply it over the cream, as the instructions suggest. I have extremely oily skin, so I usually only need to apply this once a week. It always leaves my face feeling very moisturized the next morning and I love that it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.

I’ve still been loving all of the same makeup products that I featured in my January Favorites, but one that I’ve added into the mix is the ColourPop Boudoir Noir eyeshadow palette. I’ve been really impressed with ColourPop's pressed eyeshadow formula and have been enjoying playing with all the warm colors in this palette.

I’ve also been using a lot of the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty eyeshadow palette. I dug this back out of my collection and have enjoyed pairing it with both the Boudoir Noir palette and the It Cosmetics It Girl Beauty Book. I love that it’s full of matte shades and have been loving simple two-shadow looks.

One of my favorite combinations has been applying Body Language from the Boudoir Noir palette all over the lid and buffing Mocha from the Naturally Pretty palette in the crease for some soft definition. Those two shadows match beautifully together and are perfect shades for this time of year!

My last favorite is the Tree Hut Sugarlips Lip Butter. I’ve loved almost every product that I’ve tried from this brand and was so excited when I saw this at Ulta! Lip butters are one of my favorite types of products and I was looking for a new one to apply before bed. So far, I’m really enjoying this because it’s lightweight, it lasts throughout the night, and I think it’s doing a great job at protecting and healing chapped lips.

This month wasn’t very heavy on the makeup, but it was definitely exciting in many other ways. I’m still in disbelief of all the snow and record low temperatures we saw and I can’t believe how relaxing that head massager is! Hopefully March will bring some warmer weather because I am more than ready for Spring!

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any questions, feel free to leave them for me in the comments! Have you tried any of these products before? What are some of your recent favorites?
