Maybelline Better Skin Powder Foundation Review

Whoever invented powder foundations is a genius. Like, seriously. It’s ridiculous how much time it saves while getting the same results using an actual foundation and an actual powder. I used to use them years ago and just completely forgot that they were even a thing until recently. I know Maybelline makes some of my favorite face products, so I decided to try their SuperStay Better Skin Powder. It’s not technically called a powder foundation in the actual product name, but that’s exactly what it is and *spoiler alert* it’s amazing!

Besides loving so many different Maybelline face products, another reason I chose this powder over other options is the fact that it contains salicylic acid. Some people look for SPF in their face products, I look for ingredients that are going to actively improve my skin whether I walk outside or not. They claim for this to be their first powder with salicylic acid that controls oil and lasts all day. It is supposed to improve skin’s look by reducing the appearance of imperfections, pores, and unevenness. Pretty simple, I like that.
This is more like a 3-in-1 product for me. It acts as my foundation, concealer, and powder all in one. I put on a primer first, as you always should when applying makeup (here’s why), and then I just use the sponge that it comes with to apply it all over my face. It is very easily buildable and feels incredibly lightweight on the skin. Although, depending on how much powder you put on, it can feel a little dry. When that happens, I quickly fix it with my favorite Evian facial spray.

I have mine in the shade Classic Ivory, which is the second to lightest shade in the range, and it matches me perfectly. I originally bought it to be something quick that I could throw on in a hurry, but now I find myself reaching for it all the time. I’ve worn it for about ten hours before and it looked amazing. It didn’t budge at all throughout the day or settle into my pores. It kept the rest of my face makeup perfectly intact and didn’t feel heavy because there’s not as much product on the skin. I am so incredibly happy with this powder foundation, I’d recommend it to anyone and I’ll definitely be purchasing it again!
