Valentine's Day Tag

Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all! This is the most special Valentine’s Day yet because it’s mine and Jacob’s first year celebrating as a Mr. and Mrs.! Yayyy!! And what better content to post today than answering some questions in the Valentine’s Day Tag?! There’s a tag for almost everything now, but this one seems extra sweet (pun intended). Follow along and leave me some of your answers in the comments section at the end!

1.) What is your favorite Valentine’s Day treat?
I don’t think I have a specific favorite treat that is Valentine’s Day exclusive, I just look forward to all the chocolate!

2.) Sweethearts or chocolate covered strawberries?
Chocolate covered strawberries, for sure. Sweethearts kinda make me feel like I’m eating chalk, they’re really just only cute to look at.

3.) What was your favorite Valentine’s Day memory?
I don’t know that it’s my favorite memory for Valentine’s Day, but this is one that sticks out to me the most. If you read our engagement story, then you might already know that me and Jacob had a long distance relationship for a year and a half. For one of the Valentine’s Days that we had to spend apart, he set everything up for me to go get a massage. I had never had one before so not only was I a little nervous, I was also very ticklish.
At the end of the massage, I walked out into the lobby to leave and the lady had created some small talk about my Valentine and my plans for the rest of the day. When I told her we weren’t able to spend it together, she offered me a chocolate covered strawberry and we continued to talk for a bit. That memory just sticks out in my mind because the massage was a first experience for me and I was so surprised that she actually cared about my situation.

4.) Red or pink lips on Valentine’s Day?
I’m gonna go with red. It’s so classic and since it’s still a little colder outside, I think it’s better to go with a deeper shade than a pink Summer-like shade.

5.) Would you wear your hair up or down for date night?
I definitely always wear my hair down whenever I get the chance. When I’m working at home, my hair is always up in a bun on top of my head. So I also put it down and play up the curls when I go out. Especially for date night, I think soft, long curls are much more warm and inviting.
6.) Flowers or chocolate?
Do I have to choose? Aren’t we supposed to have both?? I guess I’ll go with chocolate. The good kind, though. It is Valentine’s Day, after all.

7.) Hand-made or store-bought gifts?
We’ve done both in the past and it’s always worked out great. When it comes to Valentine’s Day, it really is the thought that counts. So whether that be something handmade or something from the store, I don’t think it matters as long as it’s meaningful.

8.) Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day?
A very little bit. I have a few things here and there, but it’s nothing like the Fall holidays or Christmas.
9.) Do you think Valentine’s Day is overhyped or a fun way to spread the love?
I love Valentine’s Day and all the sweet things it entails. Even with as cheesy as some of the traditions may be like little fold up cards and nasty Sweethearts, it’s still fun!

10.) What are your Valentine’s Day plans this year?
I’m not exactly sure. I’m not the event planner in the relationship (I’m horrible at coming up with ideas), so I’ll just have to wait and see what Jacob has scheduled. He enjoys making plans and leaving them as a surprise.
