Valentine's Day Treats

Valentine’s Day is only two days away! If you’re in a hurry trying to think of a quick (adult) treat to put together, I’ve got just the thing for you! When we were on our honeymoon in Jamaica, I found what has to be the best blended drink I’ve ever had. One thing Sandals resorts are known for is that they are completely all-inclusive, including alcohol. I’ve been wanting to remake this for a while since we’ve been back in the States and since it’s pink, what better time than on Valentine’s Day?!

The only ingredients you’ll need are:

~1 Banana
~Splash of Grenadine
~1 oz Rum cream (I used a banana flavor)
~1 oz Creme de cocoa white
The directions are simple: pour all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Couldn’t be any easier!

I thought it would be more difficult, or more involved, than it actually is but I was surprised at how well it came out. I’ve tried making so many smoothies at home and they’re nothing like when I go out somewhere to get them. I think I use the same ingredients, but it never turns out the same. I thought Sandals would’ve had some trick up their sleeve and that I would have the same experience trying to recreate this drink. Although it’s been four months since enjoying it on the island, this recipe is exactly what I remember it tasting like.
You might not believe me based on this post, but I actually am not a big drinker at all. I very rarely ever drink alcohol and when I do, I prefer blended drinks like this to mask the taste. If you’re the same way, this drink is perfect because it seriously just tastes like a banana smoothie. It’s so good!!

If you enjoyed this recipe, please feel free to share it using one of the buttons below. If you have any other questions, leave them for me in the comments section. Have you been to a Sandals resort before? What’s your favorite blended drink?

Since Valentine’s Day is this week (obviously), I wanted to go for a more soft and feminine nail color. I recently just added this Essence polish to my collection and have been waiting to try it out. The shade is called Sweet As Candy and with a color like this, you never really know the formula of it until you try it on the nails. It could either be really opaque or very sheer. I would’ve been fine with either, but this one ended up pretty opaque after two coats although it’s definitely nothing too intense like a true pastel pink. It also looked beautiful after just one coat, if you’re looking for something even more light. I’ve loved all the Essence nail polishes I’ve tried so far and I’m really happy with this one too!

What’s on your nails this week?
