Easy Classic Bruschetta

Aside from me not liking to cook because I just don’t find it interesting, I also have zero patience with pretty much anything in my life. I mean, as embarrassing as it is to admit, I can’t even heat up a pot of marinara sauce because I put it on as high of heat as possible (to get the job done asap) and then the kitchen is filled with popped marinara bubbles everywhere. I love eating, I just don’t have the patience to make whatever it is that I want. So when I find a recipe that only requires a few ingredients and only a little bit of my time, I’m all about it. Like this easy bruschetta, for example!

All you’ll need is:

~french bread
~tomatoes
~basil
~butter
~seasonings (I used onion powder, garlic powder, and oregano)
~balsamic glaze
Cut the bread into angled slices...you know, cuz angles are fancy. Place them on a baking sheet and let them sit in the oven on broil for a few minutes. Broil is intense, so make sure to keep an eye on them and take it out as soon as they get golden and toasty.
When the bread comes out of the oven, brush it with some herb butter. You can either make this ahead of time or while the bread is toasting. I melted about three tablespoons of butter in the microwave and added whatever seasonings I thought might be good...with the guidance of my “chef” husband.
While the butter is quick to make, the tomato basil mixture should definitely be prepared beforehand. Just dice the tomatoes up, along with the basil and mix them together in a bowl. You can add some oil and seasonings to that mixture if you want, but it’s totally fine without it. Then just scoop the mixture onto each slice of bread, drizzle with balsamic glaze, and sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top.
I’m not sure why, but bruschetta always seemed like it was more difficult to make than it actually is. It only takes a few minutes to put together and is the most delicious little treat. I’ve really been enjoying just this classic bruschetta lately, but I’ll definitely be experimenting with different combinations. It’s my new food obsession!!

I guess I’ve had enough of the different bright colors from the past few weeks because I was craving another classic pink mani. This is so new for me! Normally I’m all about the fun Summer shades. Maybe I’m just going through this classic phase right now. The polish I’m wearing this week is by Sinful Colors and it’s called All The Rage. This is part of their Sinful Shine Gel line and while it is a really good polish, I don’t think it’s any different in formula from their regular line.
What’s on your nails this week?
