Q+A: Random Questions

Happy Wednesday, y’all!! I hope your Summer is going great so far! Today, I have something a little different to share with you. When I started my blog back in 2015, I really enjoyed doing tags and adding a little break into the routine. I’ve kinda gotten away from that a little bit and miss getting to share different aspects of my life. So I googled random questions and put a few together. There’s not really a theme to any of these, or really any point to this post other than getting to know me better. Regardless, I hope you enjoy!! :)

1.) Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
I always keep the closet doors closed no matter what time of day it is. I think it just looks nicer that way.

2.) Do you take shampoo and conditioner bottles from hotels?
No! My older family members do that and then that causes clutter because everything’s all mix-matched. I never understood it anyway, hotel shampoo and conditioner is awful!

3.) Have you ever stolen a street sign?
With as many hurricanes as I’ve been through, I’m sure I’ve seen a few opportunities to do so. But no, I have never stolen a street sign. First, it’s probably full of germs and other gross dirt. Second, what would I even do with it?

4.) Do you ever cut out coupons and never use them?
Yes. I forget to use almost every coupon I cut/print out. I’ve tried different methods of organizing to make it easier to remember, but nothing works. Now I’ve kinda just stopped because stores have made it so difficult to use coupons anymore. If I’m using coupons when grocery shopping at Walmart, they now make me take whatever product it is out of the bag in my cart to prove to them that I actually purchased it and then they can allow the coupon to scan. Even if I had a $1+ off coupon, it’s just not worth it.

5.) Do you always smile for pictures?
Always. But it’s not just in pictures, I smile all throughout my day. I always have and because of that, I now have wrinkles on my face at 25 years old. I can’t not smile, though! Those straight-faced makeup pictures are impossible for me, and I even had a difficult time getting my smile to go away during my wedding and modeling photos too. I just can’t help myself!
6.) Do you ever count your steps when you walk?
I do find myself doing this sometimes, but it’s only in my home and it drives me nuts. It’s like once you start thinking about it, you can’t stop! It never comes to my mind when I’m anywhere else, though.

7.) Do you still watch cartoons?
Every night! Cartoons are something my husband and I enjoyed since the very beginning of our relationship and we still watch them every night before bed. Futurama, Spongebob, and King of the Hill are our favorites!

8.) What do you drink with dinner?
Either soda or sweet tea. I try to be good during the day and sip on water, so when meal time comes around I can treat myself with something I actually want to drink. Water with dinner is so boring to me.

9.) What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
I switch between honey mustard and barbecue sauce. I only eat Chick Fil A’s Honey Mustard, though, because it’s the only one that’s not creamy. If I don’t have any extras at home, I’ll just make it myself and that’s pretty good too. I’m equally as picky with barbecue sauce -- I only eat Stubb’s Sticky Sweet, the flavors are perfect in it! Most others taste too much like ketchup.
10.) What movies could you watch over and over and still love?
I used to be obsessed with Pirates of the Caribbean and The Hangover. I still enjoy both of those series, but I think Bridesmaids is the one that’s kept me laughing the most. I laugh even when I just think about that movie! I also really love classic cartoons like Shrek and Finding Nemo, those are always good!

11.) Can you change the oil in your car?
Nope. That’s what my husband’s for. I might know how to check it (keyword: might), but I honestly don’t even know how to open the hood of the car. So...yea.

12.) Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket?
No, I have not. I’ve only gotten one ticket in my life, which was six years ago for the most ridiculous thing. Apparently you have to have your headlights on if it’s sprinkling outside, even if it’s bright enough that you have to wear sunglasses. Don’t even get me started on that load of bologna!

13.) Are you afraid of heights?
When I think about it, it’s not something that scares me. But when I’m actually in the situation, yes I do get really nervous.

14.) Do you sing in the car?
Sometimes. First, I have to make sure that no one is around to see me. I laugh when I see someone else do it and I don’t want anyone laughing at me, so I try to control it as much as possible.

15.) Is Christmas stressful?
Not really, no. I saw my older family members get stressed out about it when I was younger and immediately knew I didn’t want to live my life like that. I still like to try because I love the holiday, but I don’t feel much pressure from it -- unless I can’t figure out a good present. Below is a good throwback from three years ago, I’ve since learned that I need more ornaments and expanded my collection last year.
16.) Do you believe in ghosts?
I don’t wanna say yes because I don’t want to give into it, but I also don’t wanna say no either because I’m scared of what might happen. So we’ll just say I’m neutral. Mainly, I’m just really terrified!

17.) Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
I need the sheets tucked in at the feet, but out everywhere else. I don’t like to be tucked in like a burrito because I need enough room to move. I just don’t want my feet getting cold or the sheets to get all twisted, so I keep the end of the bed tucked in place.

18.) Have you ever cried because you were so happy?
Growing up I swore I wouldn’t be a sappy crier like my mom, but now it’s happened and I can’t do anything about it. I try to control it because I hate crying in front of people and I’m usually pretty good at that. Recently what’s gotten me emotional the most is my life and my husband. Our wedding photographers gifted us this photo book, which we have sitting on the mantle of our fireplace. Every now and then, I’ll look up at it and it’ll make me take a step back to really look at my life. Then I’ll start crying about how blessed I am and sob like a baby.
19.) Can you sew?
No. I’m really clumsy and prone to hurting myself, so sewing is not something I ever had any interest in learning. My husband picked it up a little bit and can fix buttons or small tears in our clothes or blankets.

20.) What food do you crave most often?
Comfort food. It doesn’t matter if it’s something savory like chicken and dumplings, pizza, mac and cheese, or something sweet like cookies and brownies. I just love simple, southern, comfort food.

Even though this is slightly different content than what you’re used to seeing on my blog, I hope you enjoyed! It’s important to take a break every now and then, and I like presenting the opportunity for you to get to know me aside from just beauty reviews and tutorials.

Make sure to leave me some answers to your favorite questions in the comments section. I’d love to get to know random facts about my readers!
