Maybelline TattooStudio Brow Pomade Review
With as makeup obsessed as I am, it’s almost impossible to believe that I haven’t ever tried a true brow pomade before. The Anastasia pomade has gotten a lot of attention over the years, but I’ve always been satisfied with using pencils and never gave a second thought to any other types of brow products. Just a few months ago, Maybelline released their version of a brow pomade and it immediately became one of the hottest new brow products on the market. Since I’m a total drugstore girl, I was more than willing to see what this hot new brow product was all about.
This is from the Maybelline Tattoo Studio line and is very easy to find at almost any drugstore. The price ranges from around $10-$13, depending on where you shop. The packaging is super nice with its glass jar and it comes with .106 oz of product, which will provide more applications compared to a pencil.

When purchasing this pomade, it also includes an angled brush/spoolie combo. That can be very convenient and it is pretty good quality, but I do like to bring in a different brush that has slightly more stiff bristles on the angled brush side. The provided brush is just a little too loosely packed for the precision that I need in my brows.
The shade I chose is Ash Brown and it matches me almost perfectly. It can be a little dark if I’m not careful during application, but the deeper color helps to add more definition to my thinly shaped brows. In the swatch picture below, you can see how intense the color can be compared to what it looks like when blended out. The creamy formula and blendability of this pomade is one of its best qualities.
For never having used a brow pomade before, there was a little bit of a learning curve for me before I started to feel comfortable with it. It took awhile for me to realize that I wasn’t starting with enough product on my brush. Now that I’ve used it enough, it’s just as easy as using a pencil. There are a few times where I do prefer a pencil, but the pomade always gives my brows the shape they need. The color stays in place all day, even without using any kind of setting gel.
If you’ve been interested in trying a brow pomade or are looking for a more affordable option, I would definitely recommend this one from Maybelline. It’s my new favorite brow product!
