October Favorites

Happy Halloween, y’all! I can’t believe October is over already. The days flew by faster than I realized. I kept thinking we were in the middle of the month, yet tomorrow is the start of November! Are y’all dressing up for Halloween tonight? Make sure you’re following me on Instagram so you don’t miss tomorrow’s post revealing this year’s costume! I have lots of new makeup and other random favorites to share, so let’s just get to it!
My first (and always) favorite -- my husband! We celebrated our two year wedding anniversary at the beginning of the month. As usual, we kept the celebrations pretty simple and basically just spent time playing tourist doing local activities that we normally wouldn’t have time for. It was nice to just focus on us and enjoy our time together. I’m so thankful for this man every day and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for us. ♥
Kinda keeping on the topic of our anniversary, the traditional theme for the second wedding anniversary is cotton. We kept our gifts based around that and one of the things Jacob gifted me was this robe that I had been wanting from Target. It’s just as cozy and comfortable as I expected it to be. It’s the perfect weight and fabric to wear during the hotter months.
Another Target favorite is this Pumpkin Shortbread candle. I had gotten some soy candles that looked exactly like this last year and at first I thought these were the same thing, but this one is actually by the Opalhouse brand. That was a pleasant surprise because I’ve yet to try any Opalhouse candles that aren’t strongly scented. I’m not interested in buying candles that I can barely smell. This one is only $5 and will make the entire room smell absolutely delicious!
In last month’s favorites post, I included the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Strength + Moisture Leave-In Mask. I finished that bottle and found this Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray still sitting in my closet. I added this to my post-shower routine every night and it works just as good as the other spray. It leaves my hair super smooth and makes it very easy to comb through.

However, I have noticed that the spray nozzle isn’t very good on these bottles. Even with shaking the product before each use, it leaves conditioner behind on the nozzle and doesn’t mist very evenly.
From my September Boxycharm, I’ve been using the Dr. Brandt Hydro Biotic Recovery Sleeping Mask. It’s much more lightweight than I was expecting it to be, so I’ve mainly been using this as my morning moisturizer. It feels like almost nothing on the skin and has a very pleasant refreshing scent. I don’t know that it’s made a noticeable difference on my skin or if it’s worth the price, but I am enjoying it while I have it.
I’m still loving the Maybelline TattooStudio Brow Pomade that I reviewed earlier this month. It gives me the color I need, it lasts all day, and it shows up beautifully in photos. I’ve tried it with a few different brushes, but my favorite so far has been the Morphe M158 angled liner/spoolie brush. It’s not the most precise angled brush, but the bristles are densely packed which makes application a lot easier.
Pixi sent me an extremely generous package in the mail earlier this month that included their entire Pixi Pretties collab for this year. I do plan on posting full reviews and tutorials of each collaboration, but there are a few products that I’m already loving. The first being this Liquid Fairy Lights glitter in the shade Mirage from the Maryam Day Lit Kit. I love how intense this glitter is and the dimension in it is beyond gorgeous!
I’ve also been enjoying two new eyeshadow palettes this month. The first is the Dose of Colors Pretty Cool palette that was included in my October Boxycharm. I love that all the shades are matte and the formula is just unbelievable. They’re more creamy, smooth, and pigmented than almost anything I’ve ever used before.

The second palette is called Double Tap from the Pixi x Heart Defensor collab. I love the warm color selection, I think it’s perfect for Fall! Pixi eyeshadows rarely ever disappoint and these are no exception. The formula is super easy to work with and has the perfect amount of pigmentation.
My last two favorites are both lip glosses. I loved the Cake Lip Icing from last year’s Pixi collab with Chloe Morello, so I was super excited to see them release three new shades in this year’s Pixi Pretties collection. This particular shade is called Parfait. The subtle hints of pink layers beautifully over so many different lipstick shades.

One of my all-time favorite glosses that I recently brought out again is the C. O. Bigelow Mentha Supreme 2X gloss. I usually find this at Bath & Body Works or on Amazon. It’s a clear gloss that adds a gorgeous shine to any lip product. I love a good glossy lip! I especially love the cooling sensation this provides. It’s so refreshing!
October will always be one of my favorite months because, to me, that’s really the beginning of the Fall season. I get to celebrate my wedding anniversary, switch out my home decor pieces, enjoy my weekends full of football. It’s just such a good time of the year! While I’m not looking forward to the time change this weekend, I am looking forward to continue soaking up as much of the Fall season as I can in November.

If you enjoyed this post, please feel free to share it using one of the buttons below. If you have any questions, leave them for me in the comments! Have you used any of these products before? What were some of your October favorites?

XO ♥ Christina ♥
