Dose of Colors Pretty Cool Palette Review

As unbelievable as this might seem, Dose of Colors is a totally new brand to me. While I’ve been interested in a lot of their products, it wasn’t until recently that I finally got to try one of their eyeshadow palettes. This Pretty Cool palette combines my two favorite things: neutral eyeshadows with a matte finish. I couldn’t wait to test this formula and see how it compares to some of my favorites!
This is a five pan eyeshadow palette that includes a variety of cool-toned brown shades. It retails for $32, making each shadow just over $6. The packaging feels very sturdy and looks so luxurious with its gunmetal finish. There are shade names listed for each eyeshadow on the back of the palette. The inside includes a large mirror that spans the entire length of the palette and a double ended brush.
One side of the brush is in the shape of a typical pencil brush. It’s very small and the bristles are densely packed to provide more control for detailed work around the eye area. The other side seems to be a little more unique. It’s pinched and flat like a shader brush, but fans out with more loosely packed bristles towards the end like a blending brush.
The actual eyeshadow quality is one of the best I’ve ever tried. The shades shown from left to right in the swatch picture below are: Taupeless, Let’s Chill, Sign Off, Fine Print, and Smokeshow. The only two shades in the palette that might look similar are Let’s Chill and Sign Off. However, they’re actually pretty different. Let’s Chill has more of a brown undertone whereas Sign Off leans more gray.
Although all of these eyeshadows are matte, they have the most beautiful soft appearance to them. It almost reminds me of the finish in the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty palette. Every single shade is insanely pigmented and the buttery texture requires almost no effort to blend. The ease of application is what makes this eyeshadow formula one of the best!

When wearing a primer (which should be always), these shadows still hold strong even after 8 hours. They don’t muddy together and can easily be paired with a matte highlighting shade (as shown in my most recent tutorial), or a shimmer for extra dimension. If you love matte eyeshadows, this is definitely a formula worth looking into!
