August Favorites

I’m actually not that sad to see August go because that means football season is finally here!! And I love me some football!! August was a stressful, crazy, yet exciting month so I’m ready for September to start bringing in bigger and better things as we begin to make our way into the Fall season. Since so many events happened in August, I was able to play with more products and have some exciting things to share with you that I’ve been loving all month.

The first item I want to mention is the St. Moriz Dark Tanning Mousse. In case you missed it, I did just post my full review of this product along with before and after pictures to prove how well it really works. This is the first self tanner I have ever used and I’m loving it. It’s super easy to use, especially if you’re a beginner like myself, and makes a significant difference in the tone of my skin. If you’re looking for a convenient way to stay tan while managing a busy life, you need to try this!

Hair oils have been difficult for me. I already have very oily skin and hair, so the last thing I need is another product weighing it down and adding to the grease. Thankfully, the PYT Argan Oil that I received in my July Boxycharm has given me the perfect balance. The oil absorbs into my hair nicely, leaving it healthy, soft and smooth, without adding a dirty texture. I just wish they’d have better packaging than having to pour it into my hand because that means I have to be that much more careful to not overdo it.

I did a review of this L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation a long time ago and raved about how amazing it was. But once the summer hit, I started wearing less makeup on the skin and it got pushed to the back of my collection. I had a few long days recently, so I brought it back out again and have been loving it just as much as I always have. My favorite thing about it still being how lightweight it is while staying in place all day long. It’s a good one!

Profusion Cosmetics just recently sent me a few of their products to try after signing up for their Insider Program and while most of them didn’t impress me very much, I have been really enjoying this duo eyebrow pencil. It’s super smooth which makes it easy and fast to apply, but I especially like the two different shade options to create contrast and look more natural. The lighter shade for blondes is great for the inner half of the brows and the darker brunette shade fills in the outer half perfectly. The tone of the shades might look a little different at first, but isn’t noticeable once it’s all blended.

I’ve also reallyyyy been enjoying the Ofra Magnetic palette that I received in my July Boxycharm. The eyeshadows that it came with were nice, but I decided to switch those out and combine my favorite Makeup Geek blushes, bronzers, and a few eyeshadows to have something quick and easy to reach for that’s full of products I know I love.

A few weeks ago, I posted a picture on Instagram of this DIY daily planner that I made with my sister one weekend. I’m an organizational and planning freak, so this was something that I can clearly see all of my daily responsibilities and is easy to change without having to cross anything out in my actual planner. I do have a specific post coming up next week explaining exactly how we made it, so keep an eye out for that! ;)

Also featured on Instagram, a hugeeee thanks to Influenster for including me in their OXO Voxbox and being so incredibly kind to send me this amazing OXO Barista Brain 9 Cup Coffee Maker. I am a huge coffee fanatic and this has been much appreciated this past month! This may come as a surprise, but I actually don’t like the Keurig and bought a separate simple Mr. Coffee coffee maker to use instead. I was always happy with the way the Mr. Coffee performed, but am so impressed with how much stronger the OXO brews and gives a more robust flavor.

I’ve never been much of a plaid girl and only owned two other plaid shirts that I can remember probably only wearing a handful of times in my entire life. I’m not sure what it is, but they have definitely been grabbing my attention lately. I was at Burlington last month and saw these two for only $7 each!! I am always cold no matter where I am, so these are great as little cover-ups that I can easily take with me and add to my outfit. Honestly, I’ve probably been wearing them way too much but I don’t care. I’m obsessed!!

Looking back at all of these products that I’ve used this month, I love them all so much and they make me so happy! The shirts are really soft and fun, I’ve been having delicious coffee, I’ve jumped into the self-tanning world, I’m super organized, and football season is back. Things couldn’t be better!

What have you been loving the most this month? Leave me a comment below, I’d love to hear some great recommendations on new things to try!!
