Beauty Fill in the Blank Tag
Time for my monthly tag questions! I’ve been doing a lot of random ones lately that aren’t really related to beauty because I enjoy presenting the opportunity for y’all to get to know other sides of me aside from makeup. But today, we’re keeping it beauty related and I’m answering some fun fill in the blank questions that you may or may not be able to guess my answers to...assuming you’ve read a few of my blogs before ;)
1.) My favorite brand is…
L’oreal. Makeup Geek is a really close second, but I’m gonna stick with L’oreal because they have a complete line of products and are readily available at any drugstore while still providing great quality.
2.) My perfume collection is…
Small. I’m pretty picky when it comes to perfume, so I usually stick with refreshing body sprays and just a couple perfumes I know I love.
3.) I wish more brands would…
Create products that don’t include talc. That is my absolute favorite thing about Makeup Geek products and has saved my skin. It drives me crazy when I’m shopping for blushes, powders, or bronzers and can’t find a single one without talc listed as the first ingredient.
4.) The first section I visit in Ulta is…
The Ulta brand section. NYX is usually my next stop after that. I’ve talked about the Ulta brand many times before and really think the quality of their products is much underrated. They’re almost always on sale and I love looking for new items.
5.) The makeup that makes me feel most glamorous is…
Mascara. I can have no makeup on, but still feel a little put together and more confident when I’m wearing mascara. My holy grail is L’oreal’s Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara in Carbon Black.
6.) I am hoping to see...in the holiday collections.
I don’t have an answer to this. I’m not someone who typically buys holiday collection products, I just kinda skim the ads to see if there’s any great deals on high-end brands to try things I might have already had my eye on.
7.) Makeup makes me feel…
Happy. I can sit at my vanity and play with makeup, swatch and compare products, try new things, or even just create a natural look for the day and feel happy when I’m done. Makeup makes me happy and that’s why I love writing about it.
8.) The first thing I reach for in the morning is…
My boyfriend. To see his face, tell him good morning, and give him a hug to start our day ♥
9.) ...was made for me!
Blotting paper. I have such oily skin and especially with this hot, humid Florida weather blotting papers have been my best friend and keep me from looking like a complete grease ball.
10.) My collection needs…
More space. I am quickly overgrowing my desk and need to figure something out. I’ve re-organized probably two or three times in the past six months trying to get it organized, but it just keeps growing. And no, I do not have a problem! ;)
11.) I would not repurchase…
Wet n Wild lipsticks. I’ve heard a lot of people really like them, but I have two from two different collections within their brand and they just don’t impress me. They’re not very smooth and are pretty uncomfortable to wear.
12.) I am dying to try…
RCMA's No Color powder. I've heard so many great things about it and while I do still really love Elf's HD Setting powder, I'm always interested in trying new products!
13.) I would always sacrifice...for...in my routine.
Foundation for concealer. I barely ever wear foundation unless I really need more coverage to last all day. I’d much rather skip putting product all over my face and only place concealer in my problem areas instead.
14.) I can’t stop buying/collecting…
Eyeshadows. This, I might actually have a problem with! I always want to buy new eyeshadows and I probably have way too many that look almost exactly alike. But I just think that eyeshadows don’t carry as many germs as blush or bronzer, so I figure I can keep it for longer. Excuses...
15.) My beauty inspiration comes from…
Playing with makeup. I know that sounds kinda boring and most people might say a picture, a flower, a holiday, etc. But my inspiration really does come from when I’m just playing with and swatching products.
16.) My favorite thing about myself is…
My personality. I enjoy being happy, making jokes in serious situations, stumbling over my words, forgetting my sentences halfway through, laughing until I can’t breathe. It’s something I’ve had to learn to accept and now I love it. For example, the picture below is a throwback to me on my 22nd birthday last year playing with the shrimp tail on my sushi roll. Always making jokes!
17.) My favorite thing about blogging is…
Getting to express myself through something I created and share my passions with the world. Writing blog posts makes me happy. I’m always proud of everything I publish and get excited to share it with others.
18.) If I wasn’t blogging, I would be...
Working for someone else in a job that I don’t truly love while trying to figure out how to continue my education. I started blogging during my first Fall season that I didn’t have school, taking a break after I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree. And honestly, I have no interest in going back.
19.) I can’t live without...
My family. My boyfriend, my dog, my blood relatives, they’re amazing. I’m always happy when I’m with family and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
20.) My favorite thing about makeup is…
The endless options. I don’t just mean the millions of products that are available, but also what you can do with those products. You can create a natural look, something dramatic, or do more intense work like changing features completely (like on movie sets). Makeup can do whatever you want it to and there’s always room for skill advancement.
