February Favorites

For only having 28 days in the month, it seemed like February took forever to go by. I guess that makes up for how quickly January moved for me. I don’t actually feel like I did very much this month, but my favorites would make you think otherwise. I found some really good makeup, clothes, and a lot of other fun random things around the house.

Let’s start with some home related stuff, like this blanket. I actually meant to talk about this in last month’s favorites with my blanket ladder and I completely forgot to add it in. I typically find my decorative fluffy blankets like this at TJ Maxx, but I picked this one up at Tuesday Morning. It’s quickly become my favorite blanket ever. I love the reversible sherpa because it keeps me super warm (I’m always cold) and it’s unbelievably soft!!
My husband decided he wanted to get a milk frother, so he found this one for less than $10 on Amazon! I knew he was going to absolutely love it, and he does. But it was how much I love it too that surprised me. I didn’t think I’d enjoy putting a little layer of frothed milk on top of my coffee, but now I use it all the time. Even though it seems super extra, it takes less than 15 seconds to froth the milk and add it on. Could not be any easier and it makes me feel so fancy!
My Valentine’s chocolate this year came from See’s Candy. There’s not a store anywhere near us, so my husband ordered it off of their website. Oh my goodness was shipping ridiculously expensive! I don’t wanna necessarily say it’s worth it because it is so outrageously pricey, but Russell Stover, Whitman’s, and all those other brands can’t even come close to See’s chocolate quality. I’m savoring every bite!
Ever since I moved in with my husband (then boyfriend) almost five years ago, we’ve never had cable. We’ve always been fine without it and were happy with just Netflix. We recently cancelled our Netflix subscription because of many reasons and decided to try out Hulu. I can’t even begin to tell you how much better it is! I’m so happy we finally made the switch and the extra few dollars to remove the ads is definitely worth it!

We also discovered an app on our TV that we had never heard about before called Pluto TV. With apps like these automatically installed on TVs now, I have no idea why cable is even a thing anymore. It’s basically just like cable, but it’s free! I love a lot of the channels that are offered in the app, but I’ve especially been enjoying their music selection. I’ve even downloaded the app to my phone so I can listen to it in the car. If you’re stuck in early 2000s music like me, you need to check this out!
If you’ve seen any of my recent favorites posts, you’d know how much I’ve been obsessed with hats over the past year or so. I’m always looking to add more to my collection. We actually bought this black Adidas hat for my mother-in-law and ever since buying it, I regretted not getting one for me too. So we went back to TJ Maxx and thankfully they had another one in stock! I love how simple it is because the basic black and white design seriously matches with any outfit!
These bunny ears were bought on a whim one day at Ulta a while ago, but I remember specifically looking at them because I saw Emily (EmilyNoel83 on Youtube) wear them. The brand is called The Vintage Cosmetics Company. I’ve touched a few of their other headbands, but this is definitely the softest. My favorite time to wear this is when I wash my face or when I’m doing a face mask because it doesn’t move around on my head and it keeps all the little flyaways out of the way.
I think I’ve only talked about the Viv Collection leggings a few times before and they definitely deserve much more attention than that. I get these on Amazon for around $10-15 and believe me when I tell you they are the softest leggings you will ever touch. They seriously feel like butter and they don’t slide all over the place when you move. These aren’t the kind of leggings you’ll have to keep adjusting all day long. They’re perfect!!

I've been wearing the gray stroked design a lot lately because I love how simple it is, but with just the smallest amount of detail. The pair with the white stripes on the side could definitely pass as if they were from a more high-end brand like Adidas or Nike, but they're so much softer and more comfortable with a yoga waistband.
I included these same slippers in last month’s favorites, just in a different color. Honestly, I’m kinda bummed about it. I paid $20 for the tan pair that I’ve had my eye on for months. I didn’t expect them to go on sale, but I didn’t know when I’d see them again in my size so I grabbed them. Then I saw them on sale for $5 this month. They didn’t have my size in the tan color anymore, so I guess I made the right decision there. They did have my size in a purple color and even though I didn’t neeed them, I just couldn’t pass up such a great deal. So, here I am with a purple pair!
The Tree Hut sugar scrubs have been my favorite since I first learned what a body scrub even was. I use it once a week religiously and always make sure I have a backup waiting. Almost all of their scents are absolutely delicious, but this coffee one used to be my all-time favorite.

I haven’t been able to find this particular scent in my Walmart anymore so I’ve been using other scents like mango and pear. I finally saw the coffee scent at Ulta and picked it up in a BOGO sale. Much to my surprise, this is one product Ulta actually doesn’t markup compared to Walmart’s prices so I didn’t have to feel bad or worry about paying more for the same product at a different store.
I used a coupon I had gotten in the mail to get a free Bath & Body Works hand lotion. The scent I chose is called Hello Beautiful and honestly, I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do. I went in looking for something more warm like vanilla, but this is even better. It’s fresh like flowers with a slight hint of citrus, but also a little serious like a perfume. I use this on my hands at night and it’s definitely one I’d purchase again!

Speaking of purchasing things again, I finally finished up my last bottle of the c.Booth 4-in-1 body lotion and could repurchase my favorite Vanilla Butter scent. Last time I took a chance with the Coconut Fig scent and I did not like it at all. Not to be dramatic or anything, but it’s one of those scents that made me a little nauseous before I finally got used to it. That was a long six months trying to use that bottle up and I’m so happy to be reunited with Vanilla Butter again. It smells like a delicious sugar cookie!
I bought this Ecotools makeup sponge because of Zabrena on Youtube. I trust everything she recommends and recently she mentioned not being as happy with her old Real Techniques sponges. I’ve been feeling the exact same way. She said that the Ecotools sponge was almost identical to the Beauty Blender, so I went out the next day and bought it immediately. It’s less than $5 at Target and Walmart!

This might be difficult to believe, but I’ve actually never even touched the real Beauty Blender before. So while I might not be able to compare the two, I can say that Zabrena was 100% correct in recommending this sponge. It is so squishy and provides a flawless finish on the skin when applying foundation. I’m so happy with this!
Moving into makeup, I’ve heard that this Maybelline Fit Me loose powder was amazing but it takes me forever to go through a loose powder and I already had a few in my collection that I held off on trying this up until now. I just couldn’t take it anymore, I had to know how good it was. Everyone was right! This stuff is amazing. I have it in the shade Fair and it matches me perfectly. I’ve applied it with both a velour puff and a brush, and it looks beautiful either way. I know this will be great to help control my oil, especially as the weather starts to warm up.
I was able to pick up the Physicians Formula x Casey Holmes collaboration palette this month and have been using that a ton. After testing it, I’ve found that I’m not as crazy about it as I was hoping. Come back on Friday to read my full review for more details on that. But I am really happy for her and the thought of this collaboration.
This Pretty Vulgar Bronzed B bronzer in the shade Bronze Mannikin came in my February Boxycharm and I’ve been loving it. It does have talc, which I’m not super happy about. But the formula and pigmentation are wonderful. It’s so easy to work with and looks gorgeous on the skin.

Getting the bronzer made me remember how much I love their Make Them Blush blush in the shade Hush Blush. I brought that back out and love the combination of the two together. The blush is one of my favorite colors, they’re such a flattering combo!
Milani’s eyeshadow primer has always been my favorite, but lately it’s been getting pushed to the back because I’ve been too focused on the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Chromes. I had almost forgotten how long the Milani primer really does keep eyeshadow in place all day. It’s the best primer for oily eyelids! I’m clearly running very low on this one and already have a backup waiting.
The swatch picture below may seem a little silly because you can barely see this Ulta single eyeshadow on my hand, but trust me when I say that it’s super pigmented on the eyes. This shade, Petite, is part of their rewards program birthday gift this year. It’s completely matte and is just the right shade to add a little bit of color without being too much of a true purple or lavender shade.
This month has really been about the palettes for me. I’ve reached for the Ace BeautÄ“ Grandiose palette quite a few times, specifically for that first Jasmine shade. It’s so pigmented and the perfect shimmery champagne color that I absolutely love.

I’ve also surprised myself by using the Alamar Cosmetics Reina del Caribe eyeshadow palette. I mainly use the three matte brown shades and the first La Costa shimmery pink shade. I’ll use these all together or in combination with other products. The pigmentation and shimmer of La Costa is what I like to see in all shimmer shadows!

A new addition to my collection this month is the new Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette called My Glamour Squad. It’s supposed to be a dupe for the Anastasia Soft Glam palette. I don’t own the Anastasia one, but I always thought it was my favorite out of the palettes that they offer. Now I basically have the same thing without having to pay such a large price. You better believe there will be a review and tutorial coming your way with this one very soon, so stay tuned for that!
My last favorite that I have to share with you this month is the Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. This is another product that came in the February Boxycharm and I am so happy I finally get to see what all the hype is about with this product. I don’t think it’s as much of a dupe of the L’oreal Lash Paradise because the brush is a little different, but I do think it is really good. I’m working on a full review with this product, as well, which should be published later this month with comparison pictures and all of those good details!
While I don’t think this was a very busy month for me, I was clearly pretty busy finding a ton of amazing new beauty products. I can’t believe the Maybelline powder, the Ecotools sponge, and that Wet n Wild palette are as impressive as they are. Drugstore is finally coming through!

If you have any questions about any of the products I mentioned, please feel free to leave them for me in the comments section. Have you tried any of these products before? What are some of your favorites from this past month?
