L'oreal Lash Serum Solution Review

Lashes have always been my favorite thing about beauty and makeup. Whether I’m applying mascara or conditioning them during my skincare routine, lashes are always something I’ve been obsessed with. Oh, how I’d love to have beautiful natural lashes that look good no matter what. Unfortunately, I don’t so I have to try my best to take care of and improve what I do have. L’oreal just released their new Lash Serum Solution and I couldn’t wait to see if this was the answer I’ve been waiting for.

The package claims that this serum will provide denser and thicker lashes after 4 weeks of use, as well as nurturing and caring for the lashes. Its Lash-Caring Complex (made of glycerin, Pro Vitamin B5, hyaluronic acid, madecassoside, and arginine) is supposed to leave the lashes feeling softer. It is ophthalmologist tested, and suitable for contact lens wearers and those with sensitive eyes.
This is one of those packages that you have to twist the bottom of the pen to push the solution up to the top. They recommend twisting the cap 5 times to get the correct amount of product. It has a brush tip that you’re supposed to brush along that lashes and lash line both morning and night.

A few of the issues I have run into with their directions is that they don’t say if it’s 5 twists per eye or both. For my eyes, 5 twists is enough for both. Any more than that is just a waste. Speaking of applying too much, you really have to be careful when applying this in the morning. It’s not much of an issue at night, but because this has a brush tip it tends to clump the lashes together which makes mascara application a little difficult. I’ve also had trouble applying eyeliner along my lash line because of the residue it leaves behind after it’s dry.

There’s also no information on whether or not this can be used on the eyebrows. That’s another area where I’d like to see some improvement, and a place where I typically apply my DIY lash serum.
Above you can see the before and after photos of my eyelashes after 4 weeks of twice daily applications. The before photos are on the left, the after photos are on the right. If you look closely, there might maybe a slight improvement. However, it’s not at all what I was hoping for.

Overall, I’m not really sure what to think about this product. I don’t think it really did much for my lashes and the formula flaking off during the day wasn't very pleasant. After this 4 week testing period, I will still use the product until it’s gone. However, I’ll switch to just applying it at night so it doesn’t affect my makeup application.

I don’t think it’s one that I’d repurchase or say I’d completely recommend because I don’t think it actually did anything. I’m extremely picky about the products I use around my eyes and with these results, I’d rather just use my healthier alternative DIY lash serum instead.
