What's in my Travel Makeup Bag

Organizing is one of my favorite things and when it comes to travelling, I used to be one of those people who would make a list of every single item that needed to be packed. I’ve since moved on from that and have gotten into a routine by using the same bags. When I get out one of my travel bags, it’s easy to look at it and be remembered of exactly what goes in which compartment. Have you ever wondered what all a beauty guru packs for vacation? Let’s take a look!

My travel makeup bag is the Trolley Case in the shade Heather Gray by Lug, who was kind enough to sponsor this post. They recently just released a few new styles into Kohl’s stores and I am amazed at how many products I can fit into this seemingly small bag. It does have a handle, which is very useful and I love the skinny shape of it because it easily fits into my suitcase or carry-on bag.

There are two outside zipper compartments on each side that run almost the length of the bag. Every zipper on this bag has two sliders, which I think it a nice little detail. This first outside pocket is separated into two parts, one of which holds my concealers, the other stores my pencils.
Every product I choose to bring with me is a favorite of mine. I don’t have time, nor do I want, to mess with unreliable products while travelling. I’ve talked about each of these products many times, so I’ll quickly list each one and link to a previous post or review (if possible) that will have more details.
Pencils (shown above):

~Skinn Luxe Waterproof Eyeliner (Navy Seal)
~Jordana Easyliner for Eyes Retractable Pencil (Eggplant)

Concealers & Mascara (shown below):

~L’oreal Super-Blendable Correcting Concealer (Peach) -- mini review here
~Benefit Roller Lash Mascara (Black)-- full review here
The second pocket in the back is the same size as the one in the front, but is broken up by two mesh pockets. I only keep products in the mesh pockets, although there is definitely plenty of room to put other things in the main section of this zippered compartment. This is where I pack my eye primers and a set of blotting papers:

~Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Chromes (Gilded Rose & Beige Luster) -- full review
~Milani Eyeshadow Primer (Nude)
The two pockets on the sides are where I keep my lip products. I was so surprised with how many lip products these pockets can actually hold and that I was able to stand my tallest lip gloss up straight without having to set it at an angle to fit it in the zipper. You could organize this by shades, but I like to keep it separated by the different types of lip products.
Liquid Lips & Lipgloss:
~Pixi Lip Icing (Cake) -- full review
~Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip (Really Rose & Evening Rose) -- full review
~L’oreal Infallible Lip Paints (Spicy Blush & Nude Star) -- full review

~Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Balm Stain (Rico Mauve)
~Ulta Lip Butter (Enticing)
~Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (Cruella) -- full review
Not only does the main inside compartment have a plastic lining for easy cleaning, it is the perfect size for holding beauty products. I can fit multiple palettes in this alongside many other things without having to compromise all the different products needed for a full face of makeup, plus a few options. There are also two zippers in this section. One under the lid, where I store q-tips, and one on the bottom inside, which would be great for jewelry.

~Evian Facial Spray (Travel size) -- mini review
~Elf Acne Fighting Foundation (Porcelain) -- full review

~Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder (Fair Light) -- review here
~Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Loose Powder (Creamy Natural) -- full review

~Pixi x Weylie Let’s Talk Eyes palette -- full review
Looking at all of these products, it’s almost unbelievable how all of this fits in the Trolley case. I even had room to spare if I wanted to add anything else! I do have a separate system for brushes and toiletries, which could totally fit in this bag if you don’t travel with as much makeup as I do. I might only pack one or two pairs of shoes, but you better believe I’m bringing multiple eyeshadow and lip options!

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any other questions, please feel free to leave them for me in the comments section below. Have you tried anything from the Lug brand before? What are some of your beauty travel essentials?
